I’ve had a few requests for April/May Study Groups…March will be here before you know it.

In order to take an early April exam, you should begin studying…now. 🙂

@teetee I agree completely! T-Accounts are my go to for answering questions.

    @mmckee
–Yes it was a Wiley Test

OK–test results overall were good 81%, but the number of topics that I didn't pass are extensive. Amazingly enough I got 100% on consolidations, derivatives, and government. I have to work on Stockholder's Equity (0%), leases (50%), Investments (25%), and foreign currency translations (50%). The rest of the topics I scored between 67 and 92%. I think I'm just bummed because I felt like I guessed on a lot of them instead of knowing without a doubt that what I was picking was the right answer. I'm going to focus on the areas I didn't pass this week and take another test next weekend and see what happens.

    Reg 78 / 73/82.
    Aud 74/89.

Thanks Pia ach! It's so hard to tell if it's good or not because you don't know how many questions you have per topic so my 0% for Shareholder's equity could have been 1 question wrong or 4 questions wrong. Difficult to judge. I did good on the SIMS-got 6 out of 7, which really helped, but I have heard that the Wiley SIMS are not a good representation of the actual exam SIMS for FAR. Wiley is supposedly much easier. I'm really not sure if these practice tests mean anything at all, but I figure it couldn't hurt to have the exposure to all the topics in a test like format. Who knows? I hear that Becker's practice tests are a good comparison though so if you have Becker and do well like Brooklyn did you should be good to go.

So this is what happens when I take a nap at 5:30 p.m. and don't wake up until 10:00 p.m. Awake at 4:15 when i have to be at work at 8:00 is not fun. I stopped comprehending MCQs about 2 hours ago so I'm typing up notes debating on whether I should go to sleep at all since my alarm is set to go off in 2 hours. I will say that I am amazed at how many little facts I don't even remember taking notes on but are right here in my own handwriting. That is the main reason why I highly recommend rewriting/retyping yoru notes during your review. I think you'll be amazed at how much that helps put some of this stuff back into your mind after studying for so many weeks/months.

You're doing awesome CPAMom! NYCaccountant suggested in the last study group that we review the SIMs in the Wiley book.

A week before FAR. Almost done re-writing notes. Plan is to pound on MCQ's from now to day before exam. Preparing for this exam has drained the life out of me. There are days when you feel confident and then days like this morning where nothing seems to make sense. Any tips on maintaining my sanity levels? Honestly, I think I have just burnt out to a point where I am losing interest (besides sleep). Help!!

Cracked, you can do this! Get a good night rest every night for the last week.

Just one day of resting and a good night of sleep has done wonders for me and my brain :-). You have to rest or you will be too tired on exam day.

@cracked–I think most of us are right there with you. I'm exhausted. I hate MCQs. I lost interest in FAR about a month ago. It will all be over soon, but we can't give up yet. This last week can make a world of difference for you. Pretty much anything you study in this last week will help you on the test because it will be fresh in your mind. Take one day and sleep/rest/veg out to recooperate and then get back to it. It's easier said than done, I know, but just think about the fact that you will be DONE with this test is 7 days! You can do it!

Finished PPE last night – sooooo tired, and now i'm two days behind. I had a business trip Monday and Tuesday and it really messed up my schedule.

I was going to do leases and contingencies this week, but since i'm down two days, im switching leases with intangibles (which i had planned to do next week), and hopefully i can get them done in 3 days.

Somehow, I need to find 5 hours of review so I can go over Chapters 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 this weekend before moving on to employee benefits which includes income taxes (yayyyyyy).

I hate that I'm so far behind. Ya'll will be leaving me soon. 🙁

    AUD: DONE
    FAR: DONE
    BEC: DONE
    REG: DONE

IM GOING TO BE A CPA!!!!!

@NJPRU–How many chapters are there? That seems like a lot to have covered already for May exam with the chapters you listed that you need to review. Are you sure you're behind???

PPE just kicked me straight square in the mommy-daddy button this morning. Time to get angry and kick back!

Using Ninja MCQ, NINJA Notes, Audio, Flashcards and BLITZ, and 2014 Wiley Text

    FAR - (61,63)
    AUD - (68)

    Keep Calm and RTMFQ

Accountant, what is best in life? To crush your MCQs, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentation of their SIMS!

The “mommy-daddy button”. –Now that right there is funny, I don't care who you are. Hahaha
