I have had a slow start with my re-take studying. Still doing sets of MCQs to really see what my weak areas are. So far these are my scores: F1 – 70%, F2 – 40%, F3 – 55%, F4 – 60%. I am going to finish this assessment early this weekend and start doing lectures/notes on anything I scored less than 70 on. Then non-stop MCQs and 2 weeks out re-write notes and start quiz/assessment process again. Does this sound like a good plan with my current test date? 4/21?
*This is my 2nd attempt at the CPA exam. For all of you who have failed this exam many times, given up on it, or taken a break like me, remember that it is still possible to finish what you started...failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently 🙂
Amay, your plan sounds great for 4/21 test date. I am testing 4/18, whew, 30 days from today. I think I can still change my mind today to push it back free of change fee. But no thanks. LOL
How did you performance rating from your first take go? What were your strong or weak areas? Mine shows stronger on FW & standards & NFP and weak on the rest.
Just wanted to say that I scheduled my exam this morning for April 17, eeeeks. I have to move on the 1st as well, but I've been packing every night this week a bit so all I gotta do is hire some of my guy friends, buy some beer for them, and watch them move it all 😉
I'll be back Monday! (if my head isn't hanging off a bridge in Tijuana)
I have a test date of the 14th myself and would be lying if I said I wasnt a little nervous. Its been an interesting week. Was way behind at the beginning and put in 4 hours a day each day this week to catch up. Decided to leave consolidations alone for now because I was about to turn rabid and bite my book. Lucky for me most of derivatives made sense to me so it went quick. That brought me to the weird Misc. Mod in Wiley and with all the weird crap in there I focused mainly on partnership accounting. The rest can go to the back of the line as it's such a small piece of the pie. My goal was to be wrapping up next weekend and save two weeks (but only one weekend unfortunately) for final review. That gives me Non profit and big daddy governmental in my last week of initial review. Then it's MCQ notes and a few Sims sprinkled in for good measure.
FAR fam, now is not the time to get nervous, now is the time to bottle all that nervous energy and get pumped. 24 days and counting (for me)…Let's gooooooo!!
I'm sitting here on my lunch break studying for FAR – reading the Wileybook actually…. Feeling overwhelmed. I have 43 days left until my test, 42, actually I suppose. Not sure if I can get through this; contemplating about pushing it back to end of May just to have 2 full months to study. I feel like I'm not retaining or understanding this for some reason? I hate this. BUT I must push on, I want to pass this test!
FrostyCPA, keep reading so you can get to MCQs, that's the real test of your knowledge…

@teetee, thanks; I'm trying. That's what I'm aiming for – the MCQs, just feel like I'm getting nowhere or anything out of the reading! Pressing on! My poor hubby doesnt get it “Honey, I get you're stressed, but you're going to be fine” Right. Easy for him to say, haha!
I feel nervous as well. My test is set for 4/7 I am in final review now. This is my last section and so far comparing to the other sections I have taken I am scoring the lowest on my 2nd time around on the multiple choice. I am putting in 3 hours minimum during the week and at least 15 hours on the weekend until my test plus ninjaaudio on my commute. I can't physically do more so I am going to try to stay as optimistic and as focused as I can and not let the lower scores scare since there is so much information to cover. :/
Haha Frosty I know the feeling! My girlfriend is an attorney and all she keeps saying is…”you will be fine! The bar was 3 solid 8 hour days of exams! This is a piece of cake!” Friggen lawyers….
Frosty: It's funny though because our respective significant others are trying to be supportive…show confidence in us but after 4 hours in the WTB it just feels condesending….deep breaths deep breaths..
As a side note, I just started governmental accounting by listening the the NINJAaudio. Got halfway through it and I seriously don't even know where to begin. This week is going to be another power week if I'm going to get through that mess and NFP! I seriously need a trip to Vegas…whos with me??
RTMFQ! Just missed a question because of not paying attention to the “date purchased”…
Well, at least I am not missing questions because I just don't know the answer… progress people, progress!
How many letters, I've never been to Vegas…how lame is that??? I missed a trip last year cause I was studying… :-0
