I’ve had a few requests for April/May Study Groups…March will be here before you know it.

In order to take an early April exam, you should begin studying…now. 🙂

@PocketsWithCash, Thank you so much!! Your explanation made a lot of sense and reminding me to think of the journal entry…Dr. Cash, Cr. Dividend Revenue which means that dividend received = dividend revenue = cash received that's already accounted in net income. Thank you!!!!!!

How do we classify compensation expense, R&D expense, and funds paid by the company in favor of the employees' benefit/contribution pension plan?

Operating, Investing, or Financing Activities under SCF?

@Amor D see the below table…. I would assume the compensating expenses would all fall under payroll header.

    Cash Flows from Operations

Inflows (Cash Received) Outflows (Cash Paid)

    From Customers To Suppliers (Goods/Services)

Dividends (from Investment) To Employees (Payroll)

    Interest Interest

    Income taxes

Please ignore my post about deferred taxes. I was getting them all right, but didn't post correctly. I was exhausted this morning and I wasn't looking at my notes. I don't want anyone looking at that because it's all wrong. I just don't know how to delete it. Sorry guys.

I think I'm tapping out for the night. Derivatives and governmental accounting have my brain feeling like mush. Not to mention, Gleim is beta testing their prof. video instruction, so they only have it for 17 out of the 20 FAR subunits. I was in for a rude awakening when I got to subunit 18 and my new best friend, Dr. Dean, wasn't their to present the information to me. I actually missed the guy.

Don't worry about it, we are all learning. Nobody is perfect!

Btw, how long does it take you to review a chapter? Gleim has 20 chapters and it takes me about 4-5 days to review the entire chapter (this includes reviewing other chapters I have already covered),

I’m worried cos my goal is to finish everything by March ending and use the entire month of April to review. Right now, I’m half way through Gleim…ugh

Pockets?! How in the world did you score 97 on FAR?! I thought I knew EVERYTHING for AUD… and still only got 84. I am confuzzed.

At this point, I am more upset that I can't concentrate solely on the Oscar Pistorius case & the Malaysian Airlines mystery (which just got SUPER weird in the last hour). Been listening to the OP case all last week before my terrible 74 news. Now I have to read up on it instead. Grrrrrrr!!!!

Also, went through SCF solely today and I don't think anything is more confusing to me. I don't think I will ever understand it. How do you guys learn it?

zubairs – If you're sitting May 1, you should get your scores on May 15. Here is a link to the score release schedule … https://blog.aicpa.org/2013/12/cpa-exam-q1q2-2014-score-release-timelines.html#sthash.380TEKnF.dpbs

Hi Ninjas.. Hope everyone's studying is going well.. I decided to retake the exam before 4/20 to get scores by May 5. Right now my studying strategy is to read the Becker book 3 chapters every week and do McQ during the weekend to reinforce those chapters. I'll add McQ from the prior week chapters until I finish all 10 chapters in Becker. This should take me about 3 weeks to complete. After that I'll write the ninja notes and start doing wtb questions as well take notes on anything I feel is important or that I feel weak. I'll have 3 weeks to review. Any one has another strategy they would like to share? what do you guys think of mine??? Best of luck to everyone 🙂

AleFLCPA, your plan sounds great and similar to mine. I am writing notes for the next week to reinforce the details and then 2 weeks of MCQs nonstop while writing the explanations as I go. I will practice the JEs/SIMs and AICPA released questions during the end of the last week. 2 days before the exam, I will review all notes and practice JEs.

AUD: 73, 81! Thank you Lord!
BEC: 73, 77! Thank you Lord! and WTB
REG: 71, 82! Thank you Lord! and A71
FAR: 72, 78! Thank you God and my Mommy in Heaven!

Goodwill and impairment is hard for me… Anyone has an easy explanation? What gets amortized or impaired is what's kicking by butt. I find it really confusing.

    #561267

@AleFLCPA & @teetee – following similar schedule to you guys. Powering through 80 questions per night. I actually print them all and then i do them by hand and write notes on the questions. Visual helps me more to memorize. Can't wait for these 4 weeks to be over!!!!

    BEC: 65 - 79* - 84 DONE
    AUD: 65 - 76 DONE
    REG: 63 - 77 DONE
    FAR: 65 - 63 - 67 - 69 - 73 - 71 - 83 DONE
