Good luck in all of your reviews!!

UHC2005MemberI'm mostly on the last L in Jeff's ELL Plan. I listen to the Ninja Audio all day at work (~7:45 to ~5:45-6:00 pm). Then I come home, eat dinner and spend time with my wife and kids and then try and hit the MCQs or notes from 9:00 pm to 11:30 pm to 12:00 am. The 9 pm start time tends to fluctuate with the kids bed times. (Taking them to bed is one thing, getting them to go to sleep is a different thing entirely! :-/)
I've tried to get the E in when I can, but my body has been adamant about me getting at least 6 hours of sleep, which with morning chores, make the Early session problematic.

AnonymousInactiveI try to get in at least 20-25 hours per week between studying at night after the kids are in bed and studying on the weekends. I get at least 12 hours on either Sunday or Saturday depending on when my husband or my parents can watch the girls. I also study several times a week from 9-12 like UHC2005. It fluctuates on when they actually go to sleep too. Last night was “hair night” so we didn't get the last one in bed until 11:00. 🙁 Picture 3 mixed children with very curly/kinky hair and you'll feel my pain. Hahaha Luckily we only style their hair once a week so the other nights I can usually get to studying around 9:00.

AnonymousInactiveHas anyone gotten feedback on why WTB (old and new) doesn't have Gov or NFP SIMS?? I take FAR tomorrow and feel like all am going blank on so much. Figure today would be major SIM practice day with Ninja and fact nugget review with MCQ's thrown in. If anyone has any suggestions on last day tips please let me know! =)

How many letters do you needParticipantHi everybody! Just getting started for a mid April FAR. Going the semi-low budget route on study materials -10 pt combo and the Wiley books.
After about two years of pondering the CPA (and picking up the CMA along the way) I've finally decided to make a go of it in 2014. It's my first one so I'm a little pumped. We'll see how I feel in two months…hah

SpartanCPAMemberCame to the library today at 10am. Spent the last two weeks on F1-F4 and doing a mini review today by reading the chapters and taking a couple progress tests before moving on to F5.
Is anyone else having difficulty retaining the information in the first four chapters of Becker? The information itself is not difficult, there's just a lot and it can be hard to retain everything. What are your methods of retaining and not forgetting as you progress through the chapters?

How many letters do you needParticipantSpartan-I don't have anything proven yet but my process is to continually read and listen to Ninja Notes for chapters that I've completed. Then, at the end of each week, before I bring on any new material, I'll then attempt a weekly to-date progress test that will gradually increase in question length as the weeks go on. Any concepts/points that seem to be missing (or in some cases it's just a piece of a calculation or concept) will then be added to my set of personal notes to review and re-write when the time comes.

TncincyParticipantGoing over inventory again, resisting the temptation to skip to bonds. Moving slow. Nailing down weak areas, don't want to visit FAR again.
It begins with a 75

GoingToBeCPA87Member@How many letters do you need this is the same route im going super low budget….One thing I've noticed is that getting through the material in the CPAExcel Textbook takes forever…I started module 9 last saturday and just finished this AM ~20 hours, I thought I was going to be able to take FAR in April but I definitely have to move it
Starting inventory tonight once I put the baby asleep 8PM 7 days a week thank you Dr. Ferber
Whats everyone strategy when its comes to sims? Ive been doing the MC as noted in my Wiley book and took me about a week to get through Module 9 Basic Concepts and Financial Statements. If I stopped to do the sims im sure it'd be longer. How are you doing SIMS? Are you doing them at all? Leaving them for last?
As of now im taking non–stop notes and doing the MC. While I ride the train home to and fro work I also do Flashcards to help me solidify some of the basic information

How many letters do you needParticipantCPA87 – I agree, in the middle of Chapter 9 and it's very detailed. My strategy is to use the NINJA notes as reading material, and to work the multiple choice in the back of each Wiley unit once, taking detailed notes on what's not sticking; using the chapter material strictly as reference as opposed to review. Then going to add my personal notes to the NINJA notes for regular reading/rereading/rewriting material. Goal is two Wiley units per 20 hour study week with this methodology. Starting in week 2 I'm going to bring in the Wiley test bank as a method of reviewing chapters already completed and to track weakness and improvement (I wrote more about that above). I have no idea if it's actually going to work but we shall see! Glad to meet somebody else on the same study materials!

AnonymousInactiveI'm using Wiley, Ninja Notes/Audio/Flashcards, and the Wiley test bank as well. Similar study methodology as you guys. Reading the book and taking notes, working the chapter MCQ and SIMS and taking notes, incorporating my notes into the Ninja Notes, then answering questions on the WTB. All while listening to the Ninja Audio and using the flashcards as much as possible. It's just so much information. I fear that even with this method I won't be able to remember it all.
