I’ve had a few requests for April/May Study Groups…March will be here before you know it.

In order to take an early April exam, you should begin studying…now. 🙂

I'm MCQ'd and SIM'd out for today… I got through about 150 MCQs and 34 SIMS today. My brain is fried right now. I'm hoping to knock out another 10-15 SIMS and then run through the MCQs at full speed over the next two days. My trending scores are looking ok, but I think I'm getting to the point of diminishing returns.

Using Ninja MCQ, NINJA Notes, Audio, Flashcards and BLITZ, and 2014 Wiley Text

    FAR - (61,63)
    AUD - (68)

    Keep Calm and RTMFQ

Accountant, what is best in life? To crush your MCQs, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentation of their SIMS!

in regards to pensions using becker, i feel like they dont prepare you enough for the pensions topic. there seems to be a heavy emphasis on it in the lectures ( half a chapter) and there are only about 30 mc's in the hw. anyone else get the same impression?

I have Rogers and yes it wasn't explained in depth but I am not sure if this is heavily tested as I only had 37 Mcq;s on it.

Tanker Oil Co., a developmental stage enterprise, incurred the following costs during its first year of operations:

Legal fees for incorporation and other related matters $55,000

Underwriters' fees for initial stock offering 40,000

Exploration costs and purchases of mineral rights 60,000

Tanker had no revenue during its first year of operation. What amount may Tanker capitalize as organizational costs?

NO capitalization of Organizational costs…expense all

    FAR : 68, 74, 83 Thank you God 🙂
    BEC : 78 (8/27) 🙂
    REG : 72 ,80 (2/25) 🙂
    AUD : 69,67, 07/23

I got this as the answer

Of the expenditures listed, only the $55,000 of legal fees would be capitalized as organization costs. The underwriters' fees are stock offering costs, not organization costs, and are accounted for either as (1) an offset to the issue proceeds or (2) as a separate deferred charge that is amortized over a reasonable period. The exploration costs and purchases of mineral rights are considered ordinary operating costs

    This puzzled me too
