I’ve had a few requests for April/May Study Groups…March will be here before you know it.

In order to take an early April exam, you should begin studying…now. 🙂

@Ima_Audit_You — I feel you. I don't feel like I will ever be prepared. F2 has taken me forever to get through and I don't understand all of it. I keep working the MCQ and re-reading the material. I have made flashcards on the brainscape website to help with retaining the information. Therefore I can review where ever I am. When are you planning on taking FAR?

    FAR - JULY 2014 - PASSED
    BEC - MAY 2015 - PASSED
    REG - AUG 2015 - PASSED
    AUD - AUG 31 2015

No feeling overwhelmed yet. Just breathe deep and take it one section at a time. Read the book, take notes, quiz yourself with MCQs, take notes on those that you don't understand or get wrong. Once you're done doing that for every section, rewrite your entire set of notes and quiz, quiz, quiz until you can quiz no more. Also–one suggestion I have is to write out JEs (And T-accounts) for every question whether you need to or not. That should be good practice for the SIMS. if you get stuck on a problem that you can't understand, even with the book's explanation, post it here and we can help each other with it. It's a lot of information, but you need to just break it up into manageable sections to conquer. I would suggest not going in book order, but going in oder of which sections are tested more on the exam. Governmental accounting and Not for profits is usually a big one. You can also judge the more important areas by looking at how many MCQ are in your test bank per section. The ones with more questions means there is more material to cover and you should start with those. That way if you get down to the wire, you have covered the big guys. Just make sure you keep going back to restudy the prior sections as you go along or you won't remember anything from this week 5 weeks from now.–Sorry for the long post, but these are things I wish someone had told me before my first test.

@jennibfox Glad I'm not alone! My schedule looks really similar to yours. I start work in August so I'm trying to bust out all these exams before then, starting with FAR in mid-April. So far my method has been to watch the lecture for each subsection, read through that subsection alone and make flashcards, then attempt the MCQ and create a word document with screen captures of all the questions I think are good to review later on.

    FAR 5/1 - 83
    REG 7/7 - 79
    AUD 11/20 - 85
    BEC 8/27 - ALMOST THERE!!

EPS, DEPS, BEPS is kicking my butt!! I knew all this stuff is college, I don't know why I am having such a hard time comprehending it now. More MCQs tonight and hopefully I can finally get this topic down and move on.

    FAR - 46, 79 (7/8/14)
    AUD - 56, 59, 2/23/15 3rd times a charm!
    BEC - 69, 74 Really??
REG - April, I hope. Fingers crossed!

Planning for final review. When people say they re-did all the homework, do they going through each chapter (I am using Becker) and redoing all the homework for each topic? Would that be possible in one week? I was thinking of using WTB for final review. Thoughts?

I already think I'm way behind…I'm using the Wiley CPAexcel book and I'm still on the first module…I started studying on Saturday but I have no idea how I'm going to get through it, I'm already considering moving into Q3 window not happy about it.

    FAR: April or May 2014
    AUD:
    REG:
    BEC:
    Scared: 100

FAR first and only attempt: 2014 Wiley textbook, 10 Pt Combo, and WTB

I only get one try to have to give it my all and try to get 75 on my first go around.

@GoingToBeACPA87 I'm not sure what your schedule is like, but you still have plenty of time to study and take it at the end of May if you don't feel ready.

@Shane, I would shoot for 1 chapter per day, if you're using Becker that is.

    AUD - 01/18/14 - 81
    BEC - 05/29/14 - 85
    FAR - 07/18/14 - 81
    REG - 11/18/14 - 80

I feel your pain pia. I was not happy about having to move my test to April, but better to do that than waste a sitting fee knowing I won't pass this time around. I would suggest moving it closer to the cutoff for score release though. Less wait time and more study time. 🙂
