Amanda – your experience reminds me of my experience when I took the exam 2 years ago. The first set i did soooo well and it must have carried me through the entire test.. the second and third sets really sucked! and then forget about it with the SIMS, that's where it really got tricky. I walked out of the exam not knowing if I had passed or failed.. i thought I had done okay in some parts and bad in others.. I got a 72 on that exam.. and it was all because of the SIMs as I scored lower on those. I really wonder where my life would have taken me if i had actually passed it.
As for me, I started with a clean slate taking the exam last December, which is why I didn't post my score down below. I had actually taken Audit, Regulation, and FAR, all of which I failed.. not something i'm very proud of as I consider myself almost a perfectionist. I went through some things during that time, health, mind, etc and I just needed to “give up” for the time being.
What it all came down to me is that I wanted a second chance at this test and I wasn't going to give up without a fight. I changed my attitude and the way I study and review, and it's so awesome having people like you and everyone else in this thread to help encourage me to continue on.
Summary is, you never really know. I've learned that if you try your best and that's all you can really do.
