I’ve had a few requests for April/May Study Groups…March will be here before you know it.

In order to take an early April exam, you should begin studying…now. 🙂

@mommy I plan to take the test somewhere between the third and fourth week of april. Still haven't picked a date yet. I'm thinking 25th to be precise, coz it just keeps popping into my head the “25th for FAR” lol! I think you should move it back too if you feel you can use the extra days to your advantage. Also I have to travel to Sri Lanka for a week in the first week of April for a friend's wedding. I want to finish the lectures and review before that so i'll just focus on MCQs and SMS while i'm away.

@oilgaslb you've got your hands on a genius right there i can say. I thought boys are hard and naughty at young age and girls are cute but I know anything i'm not even married yet. Good luck with your exams and the little Harry Potter 😉

WTB users–Have you guys read this thread?

    https://www.another71.com/cpa-exam-forum/topic/wiley-practice-exam-scores-versus-real-exam-scores

I don't like how the numbers are all over the place on Wiley practice exam scores versus the real exam scores. With Becker nearly every person that posted was getting 10-15 points more on the real test than on the Becker practice test. It doesn't appear that is the case with Wiley. I haven't taken the practice exam in the WTB yet and won't until I've gotten through all the material, but I feel like I'm going to need to get at least 85% becauase the real exam scores are not as in line for Wiley.

Wiley somewhat correlates to my scores though. I've taken two exams..

    Wiley Exam

    Reg 90% 87%

    FAR 88% 93%

    Maybe Becker is harder though.

    FAR - 93
    REG - 87
    BEC - 84!!!!
AUD - 99!!!!!! CPA exam complete.

So rather than push my test date back, I recreated my study schedule so that I'm doubling up on subjects from here on out. here it is below:

    This week: F5/F6 – leases/liab/bonds and pensions/income tax accounting

    Week of 3/9: F7/F8 – SHE/Cash Flows/Ratio Analysis and governmental acctg

    Week of 3/16: F9/F10 – Gov't/NFP and FV/Partnerships/VIEs/ARO/andeverythingelse

3/23-4/11: review my butt off, for reals

Yikes, putting it in this format makes me realize I don't have much time left. Some of these chapters are very very extensive and things I no nothing about (govt/nfp). Here it goes…

When I used Becker back in the day, I was 10 points up on my exam as well.. Gleim this time around is relatively the same with AUD, 85% practice 87% test. Not sure about Wiley though.

Mom: I don't spend my time focusing on any of that stuff. At the end of the day the scores are different for different people because everybody reacts differently on test day. For me, my review will focus on my weaknesses (and I think we will all know what those are before test day) and I'll know I'm ready when I run out of time 🙂

Oh I'm not focusing on it, but it does intrigue me. There were a couple of people that jumped up nearly 20 points from Wiley to the real exam and then others that went way down. There just seems to be a lot more consistency with Becker users.

What happened to the like button???? I am still consolidating my notes. Probably won't start a new section until Saturday. I just put the girls to bed and this is one time where I can't decide if I regret or love them all sharing a room. The baby is literally cracking up right now. I have no idea what the other two are doing, but the littlest one is having a blast! Uh oh-now the 4 year old is telling everyone to “GO TO BED!” I tried giving her her own room, but she wasn't having it. OK–Time for one more trip in there to lay down the law (aka–let them know daddy will be home soon and if they aren't asleep, heads will roll) and then back to notes. 🙂

Just about to put the little one to bed, then I'll be taking a progress test, along with notes for F5. Or maybe two progress tests since I didn't do well on the one today at work. Not feeling so hot, little man was up with a 103.3 fever and I didn't sleep well. I shouldn't stay up too late, so we'll see how it goes!
