    I’ve had a few requests for April/May Study Groups…March will be here before you know it.

    In order to take an early April exam, you should begin studying…now. 🙂

    It looks like we'll both be in REG together since I'm already assuming we're both going to pass FAR! 🙂 When do you plan on taking REG? My NTS expires in July for that. I probably won't make it in May because I'll need a little break after FAR to spend more time with the family after the next 5 weeks. Shooting for beginning of July for REG.

    I swear, if I miss one more MCQ by remembering the first calculation but not the second, I'd going to scream!

    Using Ninja MCQ, NINJA Notes, Audio, Flashcards and BLITZ, and 2014 Wiley Text

    FAR - (61,63)
    AUD - (68)

    Keep Calm and RTMFQ

    Accountant, what is best in life? To crush your MCQs, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentation of their SIMS!

    @Zubairs–Sorry for the late reply. Family day. I studied Bonds back when I thought I was taking the exam in February, but I haven't gone over it again recently. Hoping to get to it this week. What seems to be confusing you? I remember some of it. I know working the calculations and JEs is the big thing for me.

    @UHC2005
    –Most of the ones I miss are because I don't read the whole question. It's such dumb mistakes and it drives me crazy. I have to slow down.

    UHC2005,

    Keep doing those questons until the process comes natural. That's the way to study, if you get them all right on the first, second,or third try then study is over it's time to take the test. keep going…you can do it.

    It begins with a 75
    Been here too long as a cheerleader....ready to pass

    @zubaris and other Becker users

    Becker counterpart. Fell a little behind this weekend, Friday night is ALWAYS family night. Saturday was supposed to be a day of studying, but I lost my glasses and I have to present financials to the management, so needless to say shopping for glasses ended up being an all day adventure.

    I am almost done with chapter four (scoring in the 90's), but I think I am going to take the week and review all of 1 thru 4 and do all of the SIMs at least twice. I will start on chapter 5 next Monday. I need to boost my confidence in the work that I have already done and I want it to stay fresh, so that when I do my three weeks of review I do not have to re-learn everything.

    In addition I write all of the Becker note cards as my wind down from studying…I consider it my night cap. LOL. I try to do at least 10 to 15 cards a night.

    Next two weekends are power week ends for me. I will keep you posted. Sorry I do not post that often, I can get distracted easily in this forum. I love it….I use all the great advice and information…but it can distract me and before I know it…I've lost an hour or two.

    @mommy it's alright. The part i'm finding hard to get are convertible bonds (book value method & Market value method) and detachable warrants. I'll go through my Ninja Audio notes and see if Jeff has done a better job than becker 😉

    @DLpratte are you not using the Ninja way and keeping MCQS for the end? Rather than doing it after every chapter.

    Also if anybody can advice if reading the Ninja Notes for each chapter before moving on to the next helps retain and understand info better.

    HI all! Hope studying is going well. Just grinded out the rest of Current Assets/Liabilities and looking forward to tackling Bonds/Leases remainder of week. All during month end…perfect timing!

    Stoleway: Got the process to your allocation problem yet? Forgive the short explanation, I'm mobile…

    Direct Materials: Given at $1,095

    Direct Labor: 15,000 hrs @ $27 = $405

    Overhead: The trickier part. The key part of info is the part of the problem that details the overhead

    activity denominator. When they say it's based on a budgeted 100k hours that's your key: 15k hours used/100k hours budgeted = 15% of total fixed costs (overhead) budgeted: $2.5M*15% = $375

    $1,095 + $405 + $375 = $1,875

    Hope that helps!

    Busy day at work today. Will probably start pension (F6) in the evening, let's see how it goes. How do you guys rate it as compared to bonds?

    @DLPratte–No apologies necessary. I agree completely. I picked the “easier” topics to study last week to ease myself back into studying, which is the only reason I was on here so often. This week is month end and I'm going to try to tackle bonds/leases so I'll probably only check the forum in the morning and at night. I get distracted by the forum too. It keeps me motivated, but I do spend too much time on here. Your study plan sounds great!

    @Zubairs
    –I started out planning on leaving the MCQ to the end, but then decided I would take a short quiz after each section because it's the only way I can tell if I'm really retaining what I'm reading and taking notes on and if I need to spend more time on a section. I also use the MCQ to stay fresh on topics I've already covered so in addition to doing a short quiz on my current topic I also take a short quiz on ALL the prior topics I've covered to keep the info in my head. I use the Ninja Notes from the beginning. As I read a chapter I take notes within my ninja notes to add more detail to the ninja notes. For extra notes not covered by the ninja notes I make separate pages of notes and place them within the ninja notes so when I go back and rewrite my notes everything is in order.
