I’ve had a few requests for April/May Study Groups…March will be here before you know it.

In order to take an early April exam, you should begin studying…now. 🙂

Ahhh good morning all. It's a lovely Thursday here in FAR land. It's nice to see so many people in different phases here in this review group, I really think it will help us all at the end of the day. We have a solid group with 6-7 weeks to go, a solid group who have taken or will in the next week or so and a solid group in the middle who are just starting to freak out. I think I have hit that calm stage knowing that you can't move a mountain of feces in 4 days so may as well make that mountain look as good as possible.

Finally testing in the 80s for most of my weaknesses but quite honestly I don't know if it's because I'm getting the material or if it's because I'm on my second round of MCQs for those topics and I'm just memorizing the question flow. Now it's on to that memorization topics I've been planning all along. Govt, Non Profit, Pensions and the parts of consolidations that I suppose I'll never get.

Good luck to all in all three phases. CPAmom let's kick some ass!

I just spent 2.5 hours at my daughter's school pinning quilts with the Real Housewives of Private School. And this is why I am going for my CPA and will have a kick a$$ career. If my day ever consisted of talking junk about my neighbors yards and who I will choose not to befriend in my neighborhood and why, I would have to shoot myself. CPA! CPA! CPA!

@frostyCPA – So am I on the gut instinct. I have been getting more questions wrong because I second guess myself and over analyze.

    FAR - 46, 79 (7/8/14)
    AUD - 56, 59, 2/23/15 3rd times a charm!
    BEC - 69, 74 Really??
REG - April, I hope. Fingers crossed!

Ha! @CPAmom, yeah I feel like that at work with a few of the women I work with… I am so ready to get out of here and move on with my career – and it's sad, they have no education and have great paying jobs – should be quite thankful. Drives ME CRAZY!!!

@Tarheelgirl, I do the exact same thing! I get all kinds of questions wrong and then when i flip through to get the answer, yeah, my first instinct. Need to go with first instinct and RTMFQ!! 🙂

How many hours a day are people spending in the last week before the exam. Currently, I am only 7 weeks out. So I am on average about 3 hours a day. I think the last week will just be m/c questions for me.

    FAR - 73, 75 PASSED
    AUD - 74, 96
    BEC - 79
    REG - 89! Done. I'm a CPA!!

Hey FAR group… been a while since I posted been following the thread a little but not a lot of extra time. I have today tomorrow and the weekend for final prep for the exam on monday… feeling more confident about the exam this go around(hopefully the results will show). Good luck to everyone on their final push.

CPA in – My exam is Monday. I've been keeping with my usual schedule of 2-5 hours a day plus 8-10 over the weekend. I've been hitting around 20-25 hours a week this way. I'm not a huge fan of cramming but I've done about 20 hours so far this week and going to ease up a little bit before I do another 15 over the weekend. The hope is to be done with the test bank by early Sunday evening and spend the rest of my time just reviewing notes and implementing NINJA flash cards to stay fresh.

I'm an afternoon tester so day of is going to consist of sleeping in, hydration and a workout, high protein breakfast and then one more review of notes. At that point I leave all notes/books/etc. at home to get over note separation anxiety while on way to the exam. Clear mind, relax and then go time. Detailed, I know, but detailed is what it's going to take for me to pass this exam…

@Howmany “At that point I leave all notes/books/etc. at home to get over note separation anxiety while on way to the exam. Clear mind, relax and then go time…”

This is exactly what I do as well. It's really hard to pull away from the notes.. you read them constantly, at home, at work, during lunch, dinner, in the bathroom, etc. I started this process with AUD – it seems weird, but if you dont get over the notes you'll never get be able to take your exam.

Another piece of anxiety I eventually get over is the whole fact of not being able to see if i have answer wrong instantly after selection. This is something I think we all have panic attacks on… we go into the test, select an answer and wait patiently for the answer to turn red or gree – which is then doesn't do (obviously). lol

I like your morning of routine – I share the same process.

Nice NJ! When I took the CMA Gleim had an exam mode that not only emulated the exam but it didn't show you whether you got it right or wrong until you reviewed after. I really liked that because I agree, it's weird not knowing if you got it right or wrong. Lately in Wiley I've been ignoring the results until afterwards. I still see if I got it right or wrong but training my brain to let it go immediately and on to the next. It's a critical test taking technique..we are gonna kill this thing!

Hey Spartan, how did you find those final exams in comparison to the progress test questions? I have completed all 1900 progress test questions and am going through all AICPA questions. Then going through all of my notes again the rest of today and all day tomorrow. Test is Saturday at noon. I don't know if I should just push through and do the final tests, I'm worried they may discourage me.

Has anyone else taken the practice tests? Are they more helpful for the exam? Is it more beneficial for me to go over my questions again for a second time from the progress tests and read my notes instead of do the tests?
