I’ve had a few requests for April/May Study Groups…March will be here before you know it.

In order to take an early April exam, you should begin studying…now. 🙂

@CPAMom, I'm with you on the Fair Value thing. Of course, once I try to answer a question assuming the item is accounted for under Fair Value, it isn't.

    FAR: 4/19/2014 - 85!
    AUD: 5/27/2014 - 90!
    REG: 7/18/2014 - 81!
    BEC: 8/13/2014 - 84!

    4 up, 4 down, in 4 months.

    Licensed 9/22 in NC.

I'm sure she did. That girl drinks a lot of wine. I just took a break to watch Big Bang Theory while I'm sporting my “Stay Calm and Sing Soft Kitty” T-shirt. If only chocolate worked as a retention modification tool for me. I would ACE this test! 🙂

I went through 5 section of notes tonight and took a 30 question quiz on each section. These are my results:

    Bonds: 63%

    Deferred Taxes: 63%

    Derivatives: 67%

    Financial reporting: 73%

    Accounting Changes: 80%

i can't say that I'm pleased with myself, but I can say that some of it was due to being tired and some were due to just stupid mistakes. Better luck tomorrow I hope. Only 13 more sections to go tomorrow and then I can start drilling on my bad areas over and over and over again until next Saturday. 🙂

I totally agree. Its not interesting but pushing ………………..

There is no activity on the forum where I used to get motivation to push myself.

4 days to go for me….

    Happy studying mom !

struggling with partnership right now…I'm just trying to understand the bonus and goodwill method.

I was really good with partnership when I was studying for REG, but FAR really digs deep into this topic.

    1. Can someone please explain the goodwill and bonus method to me?

    2. If partner A 40% and Partner B 60% decides to admit a new partner and allocates 20% Interest to the new partner, what will be the new % allocation for the old partners (A & B) ?

    REG -63│ 84!!
    BEC- 59│70│ 71 │78!
    AUD- 75!
    FAR- 87!

Does anyone else wish Wiley had more journal entries? J/Es just make more sense to me so it sucks there aren't more 🙁

Thanks guys! @NJPRU–I can help with bond interest dates, convertible bonds, not so much, but I have the interest part down pat.

@LStevens–Brooklyn posted a link above with a bunch of JEs. That could help. Also, here is a site for governmental JEs.

Can anyone tell me how “getting angry” works? I think that's what I need to do, but I'm only mad at myself right now, not the test. Not sure how to get to that point, but I'm willing to try anything at this point. 🙂
