I’ve had a few requests for April/May Study Groups…March will be here before you know it.

In order to take an early April exam, you should begin studying…now. 🙂

For those that'll be taking the exam in the next few days, don't be discouraged by mine or rvcpa's experience. You can never tell with these exams. My advice will be to be familiar with each and very topic and expect the unexpected. Be positive and you'll do fine. Don't kill yourself or over think your study plan etc. just coz our exams were tough. You guys will do great!

I've been slightly upset because I haven't been able to study much Weds night and Thursday at all, especially after seeing the testing experiences so far…. BUT today is clean up day at the office (I'm at a law firm in the accounting dept) and I'm in charge of the file room, so I decided to listen to the FAR Ninja audio while I'm working in there, HOPEFULLY something will stick!! I have exactly 4 weeks to get ready for this 😐

I feel the same way. I'm barely 1/3 through the material and the MCs are tough. scoring in the 50's

I'm trying to stay positive and focused.

Most folks who have come home straight from the testing centers, and then post on the experience thread are no different from the soldiers who were just deployed from Afghanistan or any warring country. (PTTD – Post Traumatic Test Disorder).

So I don't really pay attention to the details of their frightening descriptions of their test experience.

What caught my attention from yesterday's posts was how Gatorbates describes what “CURB BALLS” are. It was so hilarious! I have been cracking up with that.

@Tee, was your nightmare last night about these “curb balls”? LOL

Ha! I laughed out loud when I read Gatorbates response yesterday! Those curb balls will get you every time!

I hope I didn't discourage anyone. Everyone here is talented and more than capable of beating this exam. DO NOT go into this test already having lost the battle. Think positive.

    Cpamom- You're the best 🙂

I know I shouldn't have looked at the far experience thread but I did, and now I'm scared. Journal Entries will be the death of me, and maybe some of you feel the same. I came across this site, maybe it will help someone else.

I'm waiting on reports to run so I can book our tax extry for the quarter–you know the entry where you take your YTD net income and multiply by your enacted tax rate to get the YTD tax that needs to be booked and then subtract out what you booked in Jan and Feb. Yeah well it just occurred to me why experience doesn't always matter on these test. My spreadsheet is completely automated. I plug in those two numbers and everything calculates itself and feeds over to the journal entry so I don't even have to think about what to debit or credit. It would definitely pay off on these exams to work in a small company with zero technology. Doing everything by hand makes a HUGE difference!

    Thanks NYC 🙂

rvcpa don't worry, I need the real deal thrown at me so I stay as focused as possible…I rather hear the war stories than nothing at all.

Alright people. I'm reigning all this crazy talk back in since I started it. We CAN do this! We will get better tests than Cracked and rvcpa! We will defeat the beast!!!! Now say it aloud until you believe it everyone! It's not impossible. It's just difficult and we are not scared of difficult tasks or else we wouldn't be here right now.

I took FAR yesterday on 4/3 and definitely got an unlucky test too. Some of the questions were just ridiculous and there was not too much complex computational MCQ on it besides a handful. However, the multiple choice questions were not impossible and only had to guess on maybe 3 each testlet (testlets didn't seem to get harder). However I was mentally drained by the third being it took my 50 minutes. The Sims were just a whole different story. I left 1 hour 50 minutes to do them but a couple asked things that I never even seen as I went over my studying. I was able to answer everything though. I studied hard and had a good plan but I don't have any sort of hope of passing that yesterday and now feel like I was just played..

So clearly all of the unlucky tests happened within the first week. That means everyone after that will get the lucky tests!!!!

    Keep your heads up guys!

    @M_Knight
–Don't lose hope! As I've said before..I felt like I bombed my AUD retake. Questions came out of no where. SIMS were ri-dic-u-lous! I passed with an 85. I wasn't even going to check my score because I knew I had not passed. These tests are so tricky that you really never know until you see that grade. Trust me!

It is so frustrating because after my 74 in AUD from January I really stepped up my study plan and made sure I understood the material. Read the whole Wiley book, made an organized outline of the chapters, did countless MCQ from text and WTB, rewrote my outline and NINJA notes, made flashcards for journal entries only to walk in and get unfair questions. But hey life isn't fair right? I will just have to make it up. But good luck to everyone else! I hope your experience is better than mine!
