I’ve had a few requests for April/May Study Groups…March will be here before you know it.

In order to take an early April exam, you should begin studying…now. 🙂

I'm sorry I can't help you, but I'm using Wiley. There are several Becker users on here, but they may not be studying tonight. You may want to start a new thread outside the study group about that. I'm sure there are tons of Becker users out there that aren't checking our study group that could answer you really quickly. Good luck!!

Just finished studying for tonight (E:1 L:1 L:1) now hour ride home, Ninja Audio with some Ninja notes…Why are percent of completion of contracts so ridiculous. It's only 3 pages of material, but its taken me about an hour AAAAAHHHH!!!!!

I need to finish Inventory by end of lunch to tomorrow so I can enjoy (sarcastically) some fixed assets.

    FAR: April or May 2014
    AUD:
    REG:
    BEC:
    Scared: 100

FAR first and only attempt: 2014 Wiley textbook, 10 Pt Combo, and WTB

I only get one try to have to give it my all and try to get 75 on my first go around.

I feel you. I finished inventory yesterday and did derivatives/hedging tonight. I'm doing good on the MCQ in Wiley, but only because I just read it. Some of this stuff is just pointless.

Just sitting down to watch some lectures. *yawn* I hope I can make it at least until 11. Earnings per Share put me to sleep.

@jen–I had to skip the lectures. I just couldn't do it. It didn't help with AUD because I watched them in June, failed my first take in August and passed my second take in November without rewatching the lectures. I hope I'm not making a mistake by not watching them, but I just couldn't put myself through it. Good luck staying awake!!

@CPAMommy – For abou 12 hours I contemplated getting rid of the lectures and just using the Wiley textbook, Ninja notes, audio and Blitz, but then decided I will go ahead and finish it because this is my first exam. I dont feel very confident on my time at this point because I have been procrastinating so much and worry I may not get much time to review and nail down the MCQ's, but I have to just go with it. I think I need a swift kick in the pants to get me going 🙂

I have procrastinated too. Let's motivate each other! Instead of watching all the lectures you may just want to watch the lectures on your weak areas. They may help stop the boredom. I definitely understand wanting to cover it all. I did that for BEC, which was my first exam, because I was too nervous not to. If I hadn't had that pass in AUD without rewatching the videos I would definitely be watching them for FAR. I'm trying not to fall asleep while reading. I guess that is one benefit of the Wiley book. Every couple of pages it has you stop and answer MCQs from the book. It's nice to break up the monotony.

I think I would fall asleep reading, but I do like the way the Wiley book does have those stopping points to do MCQ's. I am trying to follow Jeff's method of watching lectures and taking notes then doing MCQ's, but I am worried that maybe this method isn't best for me because I have a feeling that once I start doing the problems I will be going back through the book and teaching myself the stuff all over again.

Yes, motivation is key for me. Usually once I sit down to watch a lecture I am fine with it, but its just getting to that point once I put babies to bed. I also need to do better at using my lunch to study. I did that for about a week or two, but it is just so easy for me to work through my lunches because I would rather do that than have to stop work, watch lecture, stop lecture in the middle and resume working.

Do you have flashcards? That's what I study at lunch. Very easy to stop and start those without feeling like you have to go over them again after work.

Yes, I do have the flashcards. That is a great idea. I can use those and possibly the notes to review. I really need to listen to my audio more than I do too 🙂

We need some nuemonics for the Statement of Cash Flow sections. Anybody want to take a crack at it with me?

I'm frustrated because I have a hard time listening to the audio now. I usually have the kids in the car and my parents just moved to a house about 2 miles from my job so I no longer have the drive between the time I drop the kids off with them until I get to work to even get in 15 good minutes of listening. I may have to start listening to it at home.

Calling it a night guys. I got through derivatives and the first portion of Statement of Cash Flows tonight. Did pretty good on the MCQs. I can't handle jumping into direct vs indirect right now. Going to unwind with one episode of Criminal Minds and resume tomorrow night. 🙂

A few more lectures and I will be to Statement of Cash Flows.

I am with you on the audio. My commute in the morning is 3 minutes and afternoon is 10 minutes max to daycare and 10 minutes max home, so I have to listen to my audio at home or if I can find time at work. I have fallen asleep to Jeff's lovely voice a few times in hopes that osmosis would work, but I sure don't feel like it has worked yet :/

I will be here tomorrow night.

So, I got to chapter 2 in Gleim and it's all about the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Comprehensive Income – never knew that 4 years removed from college would have such an impact on me remembering what current assets/liabilities were. Sounds silly, I know. lol

    AUD: DONE
    FAR: DONE
    BEC: DONE
    REG: DONE

IM GOING TO BE A CPA!!!!!
