Okay i am using the becker course and I am on chapter 2 on FAR my accounting is not strong at all. Should I pick up my old accounting books which they are only a year old ? Also I did 5 question of chapter 2 subtopic 1 it seemed like some of the stuff wasnt even covered and i have no idea what to do can someone help me

oh yeah this is my first time studying for all this i have not taken in any other exams

I went through this exactly…panic attack and all. I had never seen a LOT of concepts, and it seemed like everyone else had. I was rusty. I felt thrown back in the fire. I wanted to quit.

I worked my ass off those first 4 weeks…just do and re-do the sims and MCQ. Keep doing them until it's drilled. Review the texts when confused…look up things you forgot (INVESTOPEDIA!!!)

There's no magic…just repetition and study. The only answer is persistence man. I had promised myself that I'd get a tutor if I hit week 6 and wasn't moving forward…but by then, with enough repetition…it had clicked.

BTW – I was getting 50%s on my practice HWs…so don't freak out.

I know it's easy for me to tell you to relax now, but I swear to you, I was where you are…full on panic, ready to quit.

Becker just announced a new format starting Jan 17th. So maybe the new format will help. I haven't started yet but am going to as soon as they make the changes.

Dude…don't apologize. I've been there. I get it. Other people told me what I told you, and after you pass, you'll pay it forward.

You aren't stupid. What you're experiencing isn't unique to you. I KNOW where you are…I was there 7 months ago.

Do the work…however long it takes, do the work. If it's not clicking, you get a tutor.

Just a heads up…I spent an awful lot of time trying to master all of the hard stuff to the Nth degree…I didn't get that stuff on the exam. I got easier stuff in LOTS of detail. I don't know what you;re exam will be like, but that was how mine was.

The SIMs were a grind. They weren't hard, but they were time consuming. Make sure you come out of MCQ with time to spare…if one is stumping you, move on.

Hi I just wanted you to know that I am on Chapter 3 Section 2 of Rogers (the cost and equity method). I just started studying for it too and I have been kind of freaked out about trying to understand all the concepts. But just take your time, I WILL TAKE SOME TIME TO understand it but you will be able to do it. If you would like me to share my notes with you please dont hesitate to contact me directly. I try to study every night after work for 30 mins atleast. Tonight I will be starting Chapter 3 Section 3.
