Reviewing for FAR and was doing good until I hit the three headed dragon: Pensions, Deferred Taxes, and Stockholder’s Equity. Officially discouraged. I thought I would know those sections going in but guess not. There’s just too many extra tricks and rules and options to remember AHHHHHHHH. And I’m pretty sure Governmental Accounting is going to destroy me once I get to it.

    BEC - Pass
    FAR - Pass
    REG - Pass
    AUD - Pass

Calm down and breath. Just keep re-reading those sections and work out the MCQs until you understand why an answer is right or wrong. You can do it!!!!!!

I honestly thought governmental accounting was not bad at all. It stuck to me better than pensions for sure and it was one of my strong areas on the exam including NFP. Governmental accounting is the least of your worries. I would say chapter 5, 6, and 7 gave me trouble, but I knew enough to pass. 🙂

How long until your test? I freak out occasionally now, but have to remind myself that have a 8 whole days left. Wish I had an extra week but it is what it is now. Good luck to you!!!

@runhomejack, try not to freak out. I know it's easier said than done. The first time I took FAR in January when I got my 65, I could not get it together. When I finally got to the test, I realized I freaked out for nothing. I know I haven't passed yet, but I've taken it twice this year so I do have some experience takign the actual exam. FAR is a hard test, but seriously, 60% of the multiple choice questions are straightforward and stuff that you will get if you are studying diligently. 20% are difficult questions and another 20% are kind of whacky and seemingly impossible. Just keep telling yourself that you're not going to flake out on the simple stuff.

And like CPA628 said, go back and forth between the book and the MCQs and it'll start to stick. If I start doing the MCQs and I'm getting them wrong, I stop and I go back to the book. Good luck!

    REG - 80 (Becker only)
    BEC - 76 (Becker only)
    AUD - 71, 76 (Becker only)
FAR - 65, 74, 81! (Becker, Wiley Test Bank, Ninja notes & Audio)

    CPA Class of 2012 🙂
