Hey, to those of you who passed FAR. What did you do with your final day before the exam. Overall review, MC, Sim, Readings…. thanks just looking for some advice.

Marcus, I had Becker review so the two days before my test I took one mock exam then and one the other day. Then I knew what to study a little more but what I got wrong on those exams. If you have something else, I would work on the sims and mc choice and going on what you get wrong…study that material more, especially the morning of the exam.

Funny thing happened to me studying for the exam on the way down to take it……I was reviewing my material and what a surprise when 3 of the MC questions that I got had to do with that information and had I not looked at it that morning…..I would have had to guess at those questions.

Marcus, like WI-CPAsoon, I used Becker. The day before FAR I focused on doing MCs for the sections/topics that I had been having trouble with. I also tried to go through all of the simulations in the software for all chapters/topics to get me thinking about what kinds of problems the sims might propose.

If there was a formula or definition that I had particular trouble with, I wrote it down and later reviewed all of these trouble items. It's amazing what you can memorize the day before an exam when you are focused.

To all in this forum, I would recommend Gleim – the whole 4 parts + online tests + CD with many questions (thousands), online updates to paper books, DVD lectures and an option to get a new paper book for $10 shipping, cost under $1,000.

I passed BEC 87, AUD 88, FAR 88 this summer for about 3 months of studying (no studying on weekends, traveling with a 3-year old to Europe and other stuff in the meantime).

My boss was really nice and gave me the time off to study, so I was able to do that.

I think GLEIM is great for the CPA exam. I almost exclusively used the paper books, did all MCS in the book at least 2 times (with FAR 3 times) and at the end I would use the MC CD to create sessions of about 90 questions – 3,4 sessions. I also did the SIMS online for AUD, but not for FAR, 'cause I was behind schedule.

I don't know if you've read my post almost a week ago about NTS and official transcript, but can I ask for your help? I called last Friday and the representative told me my transcript has been received. It'll take 3 days to process and he asked me to call back on Wed/Thurs. I called back today, but I was told that nothing was received at all. It's been 3 weeks already since all the trouble has started. Can you help me please? it'll be greatly appreciated. I am from MA and I took FAR August 27th. Co-workers have gotten their scores back over a week ago and I still havent gotten mine. Anyone else in the same boat?

Marcus, in my opinion, I would recommend doing nothing in relation to accounting the day before your exam. Maybe even 2 days before the exam. I read a fiction book, my girlfriend's gossip magazine, and I went golfing, all the day before my AUD, BEC, and FAR exam, respectively. However, this might not work for you. So, the most important thing I can tell you is to do what works for you.
