Just found out I passed FAR!!

I live in Florida, but signed up in GA for all four sections. I don't meet the Florida CPA requirments, but I do in my second home in Illinois. Can I transfer my scores to IL and get certified there before I even apply for certification in GA?

    Thank you.

CPA2Night.. I think you need to complete in GA get certified there and then apply for reciprocity in IL. I am in the same situation, I started at TN and moved to VA. and they told me that I have to apply at TN and then apply for reciprocity in VA.

But problem for you might be that IL would ask for extra experiance/CPE since GA is a 120 hour state

Just found out I passed FAR with an 89!! I never would have thought I did that well! I'm just glad the wait is finally over! Unfortunately, it is only 1 out of 4 but at least I can have more confidence going into them…

I just received my score for FAR this evening, a jaw-dropping 85!

I consider this score a miracle from the Almighty God.

I started sitting for the CPA exam in 2006 (and passed two (Auditing and BEC) of the four sections that I sat for at that time). My account was put on hold in 2007 because of the 150 accounting-hour rule. My state BOA granted me an extension, but required me to complete some additional accounting classes in order to become eligible to sit for the two outstanding sections (Regulation and FAR). Upon completion of the accounting classes, BOA gave me six (6) months (April to September, 2009) to pass the remaining two sections. I scored 81 points in Regulation in May and just saw my FAR score (85 points). I completed only 4 of the 5 testlets and did about 40% of the second simulation. I feel so thankful to God because I would have lost the credits for both BEC and Auditing by the end of this month if I did not pass FAR.

I thought I should share my story to encourage others to keep striving until they reach their goal. I'm glad my efforts eventually paid off (juggling studying with family life and work was indeed very challenging). I am a CPA at last! Thank you Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was hoping to bypass GA altogether because of the crazy work requirements. I meet them, but proving will be a hassle to say the least. Illinois is much better.

CPA2night…you should see if you can transfer your test scores to IL. The CPA exam is a uniform exam, as you know that means it is the same exam in every state. Look into that before you do anything else. If you can't find anything in print call the BOA for IL. I was looking into this b/c I work in NC and I was trying to get transferred to MA, and I almost had to do what I told you before my transfer was granted. Good luck.

Reciprocity is a b*tch b/c most states don't have the same requirements. For example, the 150 credit hour rule, or experience, or Audit experience, or taking an ethics class.

Finally, FL is the hardest state to get reciprocity in b/c all the retiring CPAs move there and try to practice so the state is very good at protecting itself.

Im really happy i passed this was the first test i took but i thought i would do a lot better. I came out of the test thinking id get in the high 80's. More of a confidence thing (then actually caring about my grade) for the next test because i studied my brains out for FAR

CPA2night – Georgia just changed their work experience requirement -for both industry and public accounting it is only 1 year of experience now.
