    Hello everyone,

    The people at the AICPA are losing their minds. I took the exam today and I left flabbergasted after my SIMS. The MCQs were not so bad. I would advise someone to know NFP and government accounting. It seemed like most of the MCQ topics were different from what I studied for. It’s as if the AICPA has hit reset and started testing different topics than the review courses.

    I don’t have much advice on the SIMS because I don’t think I could have prepared any differently because you don’t know what’s going to be on FAR and it covers so many topics. I was fine with maybe four SIMS, but I didn’t know what I was doing on the other four. I would suggest that you know the financial statements and what can affect the major accounts on them. Learning the account differences for GAAP and IFRS might help. I was hoping this attempt was my last exam (second attempt for FAR), but I plan to start back studying in a week or so.☹️ I will probably purchase Ninja because I have to pass FAR this year or I’ll lose AUD.

    I get to retake mine as well, although score went up quite a bit. The score breakdown really doesn't help at all!

    I just found out i failed FAR with a 69. Will take it again this summer.

    I took FAR June 7 and also felt like the sims were crazy. MCQ felt ok (easier than Becker), but I agree there was a lot of government and NFP. Walked out feeling pretty not great about it, and ended up passing with a good score. Anyway just wanted to encourage anyone else reading this after their test! Just because the exam feels brutal, doesn't mean you failed.

    I got back to back 69s on FAR before pulling out my passing score. Keep it up!

    FWIW – I didn't “study” at all for SIMs. If you know the concepts, the SIMs are completely doable.

    Took me several times to pass FAR. Hang in there everybody who is doing a retake, you can do it!. Score breakdown is helpful but don’t rely on it 100%.

    Thanks everyone for your input! I decided to re-take FAR in six weeks along with Ninja. Also, I checked my first FAR exam and it was in March 2018 so it was more than a year when I re-took it. I probably should have started from the beginning.
