So this is my first post here. I just took FAR last week and my anxiety level is up to the roof.

This is my last section, if I passed I am done, if not, I have 2 more chances before my first part expire.

I took FAR in 2012, I didn’t study half the amount I studied this time and I scored 72. This time I studied for long hours for 3 months, I did a total of 2500 FAR MC questions 3 times and I did all the Sims I could find.

Now you probably asking why I am nervous? Well, I feel I did well on the MCQs, but I feel terrible about SIMs. 90% of the MCQs I was familiar with, but when it came to SIMs, it was just either in a strange format to understand, or a strange topic.

I am not sure how I did on the SIMs, I am not sure if my answers are correct but I am hoping for the best. I know that i did good on 2 of the Sims, but the other 5 I am not sure about, but I think for sure that I will be getting partial credit on most of them.

I know that when I got 72, my score report was Comparable for MCQs and Weak for SIMs, and as I said, I didn’t even study that much. This time I put 380 hours of good studying, and that is way I feel it will not be fair if I fail.

Please guys let me know your thoughts

I think everyone feels that way about the SIMS. I know I felt they were brutal and even one was on something I had never seen before. I passed with an 81 and didn't put nearly as much study time as you did and I didn't feel great about 90% of the MCQ like you did. I think you passed! You'll find out soon and what's done is done. Don't stress about it because you can't change it now. I know it's easier said than done, but it's really not going to help make the next 11 days go by any quicker. Keep active and try not to think about it.

You will know in a few days.

Thing is that people in general should study to learn the concepts, not do memorize the MCQs. Why would you do 2,500 MCQs three times?! And while doing so, how did it NOT cross your mind that you need to understand the concepts in order to feel as good about the sims as you did with the MCQs?

For my 3rd AUD exam, I had one sim that I couldn't locate in the Authoritiative literature. The question haunted me and when I checked my wiley book the topic was mentioned in one sentence of the appendix to the book. I believe each set of review material has subtle differences in topics that they cover. Had I used Becker or Gleim. I might have gotten instruction on that particular item.

The bottom line is SIMS can be really out of left field and sometimes no amount of preparation will make them understandable. The good news is despite that SIM that my material did not prepare me for, I still ended up with an 81.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

Ok, so I just want to update everyone. I ended up passing by 85 :), thanks Mamabear for predicting that :).

I am done forever and ready to get my life back.

And krokofilen, when i mentioned before that i answered 2500 questions 3 times, I wasn't trying to memorize the questions, but for me that was a better way to review the material than reading the book over and over. 2500 questions were enough to cover most of the concepts that you need to know for the exam, so by reviewing all 2500 questions 3 time, I was able to memorize the concepts, and not the questions, and be ready for the exam.
