I had my exam scheduled for today at 12:30 pm. I’ve been studying for the exam for about 7-8 weeks now and u can imagine how badly I wanna get this over with. They signed me in, took my fingerprints, and took my pic. And then made me do that all over again…twice. Long story short, I never got to do my exam.

The ladies at the center were in contact with the Prometric IT or whatever they call it, and I sat there waiting because they told me it would only take awhile and that it will be fixed. First they said it would be 20 minutes, and then that turned into “just 5 more minutes”. I ended up waiting FOUR HOURS for my exam…no joke!! I would have walked out but I’m sure u can all understand that it’s not always easy to take a day off of work and plus, when u schedule, u have taken days to prepare urself mentally, psychologically, emotionally, etc for this day!! HOW ANNOYING!!!!!!!

They never solved the problem (whatever the hell it is). Apparently there was something wrong with my exam. I don’t understand why they couldn’t just give me a new one?? So now I have to wait for Prometric to give me a call to reschedule. I’m so looking forward to that call cuz i’m gonna blow up in their face. Oh and I also think I’m entitled to a refund for lack of clear info on the problem all though out my 4 hours…and not to mention the inconvenience that came with this.

End of rent. I feel better now 🙂 But seriously, who wants to study FAR all over again? And yes I do still need to study because the info doesn’t stick for very long.

@rana_cali If this makes you feel better, I think is worst when you travel from abroad… probably is a good sign after all, you have few more days to review, review and review.. so, good luck!

Are the exams preprogrammed in to the computer? Meaning that it's not pulling questions from a test bank, but you've been assigned questions already when you signed up. Would they assign alternative sets of questions depending on how well you did before you even sit for the exam? Is that a possibility?

Thank you all for the support!! @mystical guy I also believe that everything happens for a reason…maybe I'll get an easier test when I reschedule? Wishful thinking….i know lol.

@mla1169 hell yea I”ll be re-taking it without a fee…they would be really stupid to make me pay for a re-scheduling fee (although anything's possible) and frankly I'd make a big deal out of it cuz it's their fault I'm rescheduling. I mean if they had told me from the beginning that I had to reschedule, I would have sucked it up. But it's frustrating when every half an hour they tell u that ur about to enter the exam in 5 minutes.

@tyndil I will definitely contact Nasba…we'll see if anything useful will come out of that.

@tough_kitty…I hate those lame surveys too lol…however this time I will be taking the time to mention my experience.

This is absolutely horrible. Unfortunately prometric probably will not refund you or show you any sympathy for your situation. I hope you are able to persevere through this adversity and maintain your motivation to destroy FAR. GL!

They told me that “there was something wrong with your exam” meaning it was related to my specific exam and not to the CPA exam in general, since there was another girl who went in like 5 minutes before me to do the CPA. But I would guess that it's a test bank.

And this is the issue with a monopoly. If, as a consumer we had a choice of testing centers, and we could use the power of word of mouth/yelp/etc you would probably get that refund. Sorry about your bad experience. Hope you kill it next time!
