I toke FAR exam today and it wasn’t my first time to take FAR but today I can’t believe how hard is exam was. Starting from the first let most of MCQs was 5 or more lines and the short ones from subjects buried in the books. No one direct question it’s all had with tricks. The SIMs was too long but consider much easier than MCQs, I got 3 questions with 20 to 30 cells to fill then I found out it gave me few information for only few cells but after I felt like I’m falling for sure.

I think I did not bad but I can’t be sure. If I pass (cross fingers) or fall I had a terrible experience.

    FAR: 73, 85

Yesterday I got the score and passed 80. For me second take . First time scored 63.

Both times MCQ's easy and SIMS brutal. First time left 3 SIMS blank and didn't had time at all. I didn't managed the time properly. In the first take spend almost 30-40 minutes in 1 sim which was a total disaster. Second time I think at least research SIM was correct and maybe 50-80 percent correct on 2 sims. Left 1 totally blank. 3 sims educated guesses. Again both times majority of the SIMS are JE's.

    I used
    BECKER Self Study
    BECKER Final Review
    Ninja Notes

also referred the following youtube channels

    and for JE's

    https://www.principlesofaccounting.com/illustrative%20entries/entrieslist.htm

I got the above link in this forum and it is the best for JE's. Maybe few hours or even a day worth spending on JE's. I went through all the JE's from start to end expect the manufacturing variances and payroll.

Since I didn't had accounting background or experience the above youtube channels helped me a lot in understanding the basic concepts. The best for beginners with no accounting knowledge. Then BECKER helped.

    My 2 cents

    1. Don't skip any topis . At least understand the concept. I read Chapters 1 to 10 expect the Financial Instruments in Chapter 10.
    2. IFRS VS GAAP important.
3.Understand JE's and practice – write it down.

AUD scored 74 last time and plan to retake again.

    Congrats to everyone:-)

Thanks again to all the members in this forum for the constant motivation and great support.
