I only have 3 days to review before my exam and I’m wondering what you would focus on for the review? If you only had a chance to review the top topics over a long weekend, what do you wish you had looked over?

Know GAAP Vs IFRS differences and not for profit; governmental.. I would focus on all topics that have been included in the hard MCQ PDF that Jeff gives out with the ninja MCQ. I would work those out and any topic I noticed that seemed to appear in multiple questions if that “hard” PDF I over worked that topic, I just assume a lot of them are 2 pointers if they are in the hard section.

So I think you should know depreciation, governmental & NFP, and IFRS vs gaap.

@crazyleon no apology needed, there's no magic answer in the end, i'm just trying to focus my last bits of energy on something that will actually help me pass, instead of wasting time on little tidbits here and there that don't carry much weight

@Eaglebig4 hope you're still around! what do you mean by franchise JEs? I don't remember seeing those in Becker, but that's not exactly saying much 😉

I took FAR a year ago but thought I'd chime in. This is how I reviewed FAR in 4 days –
    Thursday – reviewed Gov't & NP
Friday- reviewed cash flow stmts and bonds (my problem topics besides gov't and nP)
Saturday – SIMS – at least half of the SIMS i did were research SIMS to know more of the AL
Sunday – practice exams (3) – I was done by late afternoon and called it quits
Monday – worked half day, took exam at 1:30pm

I forgot to mention that my 4 day could be done in a long weekend – Thursday and Friday were done after work (4-5 hrs each). Good luck!

I kindly do not agree with some replies here. Just understand IFRS is more flexible than GAAP, and know a few key differences between IFRS and GAAP. Do not spend any more than 30 mins on this.

I do agree with some others about non-for-profit and governemental. They together make up 25-30% which means its about 20-30 questions from all 3 testlets.

Working full-time and taking all 4 parts in one window.

If I can do it, you all can too.

Does anybody who took FAR recently have an updated answer to this question?

If you don't know everything a good 2 weeks before the exam, you probably won't be learning much more during your 14 day countdown. Don't neglect the easy stuff during your final review process. They have a way of sneaking the easy questions in just to make sure you gave them ample time during your studies, and not just the harder stuff.
