    Just got done with FAR and I left feeling like I’d been kicked in the head more than a few times in a row. It was brutal. Just freaking brutal. I know the second testlet was harder and normally I’d take comfort in that but…the second testlet was HARDER. And I got plenty of sims in the areas I’d touched the least (go figure). There was no love in that 4 hour package of ‘aren’t we all having fun’!

    Just had to vent to those who know what it feels like.

    Rain or shine, I’m moving on to Audit.

    @Andrew808 ,If you have followed Becker's and do the time management you should be fine.I have observed that since Q1 now they ask questions with twist and it takes a while to figure out what is asking.So go through Becker's again and see mix.formula BASE is really helpful these days.One tips someone shared for SIM , try to read 1 resource and solve 1 question not vise versa.I see it as a big tip.I also expecting Inventory this time as Becker's given lot stress on Inventory ( speculation ).

    @Andrew808 I think I know why someone told you to brush up on your casino accounting. But really – I don't know that there's any need for that. Without disclosing too much – if you see anything for that it might be a SIM, but I doubt you'll see any MCQs. And if you have a SIM, then you have access to the AL.

    I am not familiar with the term casino accounting.
    Is that a mnemonic? or are we actually talking about casino accounting?
    I don't have my FAR books with me to check, but I don't remember this in my course.

    Not a mnemonic but due to exam disclosures I cant say much.. maybe google it? Those that encountered it were caught off guard and unexpected to say the least.

    @wannafree i'm pretty solid on that, and in my mind if the answer is too obvious at first I don't think about the BASE formula. 9/10 the “squeeze” is what they're looking for. In doing my SIMS, I always read the questions first, then read through the resources and pick out the information that's applicable. There have been too many times where I have pulled information from the basic resources provided, so I tend to focus on the abnormal resources first and apply them to the questions…then circle back to the general resources and make sure i'm not missing anything.

    @jennifer
    great point! i'm banking on the AL for the sims because i'm very solid on the general application and treatment, may just need AL to refresh my memory on the treatment of one offs and IFRS differences.

    @ReckedRacing
    it 100% is not in the course as it's industry specific and is not covered. However, it is not impossible that the accounting treatment of a specific industry could be included on the exam, far fetched as it may be

    IFRS differences ,I don't think u can find it in GAAP AL.
    Casino has special accounting for revenue reorganization and available on AL so no worry there.

    yeah for the IFRS differences, i'm just going to hope that my review of the material has been substantial for my brain to pick the right answer out of a MCQ. leaving the rest up to the examiners because Becker does not provide a consolidated list of IFRS vs GAAP differences…Does NINJA? I do have that too

    I believe the end of F10 – Review of IFRS vs US GAAP has a good overview of the major differences.

    Ninja notes does too.
