I just took FAR this past Saturday. I felt very prepared I was averaging 85’s on 30-90 question progress tests in Becker. The exam went ok. The first testlet was easy the second one was harder and the third was mild. I knew how to do almost all calculations and felt like what stumped me were questions on disclosure requirements and other minute information that wasn’t stressed in my review material. Sims were ok, except for two, One was requiring me to calculate something that I had never seen before and then base my answers on that. The other I ran out of time but was able to salvage some of the JE not knowing if they were completely correct. I am beginning to have mental breakdown thinking about going through this whole process again. Besides, using this forum to vent does anyone think its possible to pass even if I had such a terrible gut feeling leaving the exam. Its hard to stay optimistic right now and its extremely disheartening that I felt prepared.

I think you'll be surprised come score release. I think the general consensus is that no one feels great after walking out of a CPA exam (no one in their right mind anyway)! If you're only feeling a little distraught on 2 SIMs, I'd say you're sitting pretty well.

I took FAR a few weeks ago (4th time) and was just praying for a 75. I felt good about the MCQs but I never like the SIMs. Walking out, I wasn't sure if I completely got 1 SIM right or not. Score release brought me an 86. Considering your scores in Becker, I'd say you were well prepared and your score will reflect such. Keep up the optimism!

It's alright. I studied hours upon hours for the thing and got caught up on a couple of the sims. Ended up not even getting to the last one and barely filling out two of them. Legitimately, I got through 4 of the sims in full and won't even get full credit. Looked up at the time and saw I had 20 minutes. Just lost track of time like a fool. So don't feel so bad. 2nd time taking FAR and 4th exam overall. Lost track of time like a noobie. I have nobody to blame but myself. Been down all day long. It's tough to shake knowing I had prepared so hard for something that didn't even beat me. I beat myself. Oh well. Onto the next one and I'll retake FAR for a 3rd time if need be.

I feel your pain though. It's a tough pill to swallow.

I'm right there with you! I couldn't sleep the night of my test, day of and day after. At times I've convinced myself I failed and sometimes I think–well, you never know. Thankfully work has got me distracted but I really just want my score already. The thought of having to study again is devastating, but I'm ready for it.

    Good luck! 🙂

I took Far last month. I felt very strong about the multiple choice. As for the sims, I might as well have not answered the research question or another sim as they were 150 percent wrong. I felt uneasy about two more, and strong about 3. I got a 77. When I walked out of the exam I was ready to head straight to the GWB. You probably passed.
