I took REG in Q2. The gift tax exclusion tested was 14,000. I am retaking Q3, and running through MC in Wiley and noticed that the exclusion on gift tax is at 15,000 now. I am not sure if the Wiley testbank has been updated for test material that isn’t testable until January 2019. As the AICPA has said the new tax reform stuff won’t be tested until January 1, 2019. I don’t want to study the wrong thing. Does anyone know if Wiley has jumped the gun? I wouldn’t be surprised if they have.

One thing the Wiley videos always say is to not memorize any numbers that are adjusted for inflation – if a number is inflation-based it will usually be given to us on the exam (because the AICPA doesn't want to have to create brand new questions every year with the new inflation-based numbers). That being said, it is still frustrating to study when one program uses one number and another program uses another number – those questions marked incorrect are still a blow to self-confidence and trending %!

@ Panders That's a good point. You know it's all about the Benjamins with the review courses. They know we need the review courses to prepare for the exams so they can be inconsistent. It's similar to airlines. They can provide poor service yet we still have to fly. Haha.

You guys have been so helpful. So the changes are due to inflation and are testable for Q3 and Q4 as tax changes for as of 2018. Thanks 2bigcpa! Panders I totally agree with you. Getting those questions wrong really blew my mind. I got so angry.
