I am about to buy the Wiley Test Bank, I would like to know what your input is on the most efficient way to plow through the questions. I was thinking blocks of 30 questions and one sim daily, one topic per day. So for example 30 questions and one sim on individual taxation, next day 30 on corporate tax for example, you get the picture. Then at the end to do like 3 full exams with the cumulative material. I want to do that for both REG and FAR, do you think that is the best way? Let me know what worked best for you.

    FAR - 71, 68, 74, (8/31/14) 78 ✔
    REG - 67, 71, 71, (10/18/14) 78 ✔
    BEC - (11/29/14) 86 ✔
    AUD - 73, (4/4/15) 86 ✔

I can't believe this is over! 2 years and 3 months..

Haha I know, $217 is good but I thought I'd second what CR7 suggested 😉 Are we able to access the testbank right when we buy it Jeff or do we have to wait to get some sort of confirmation from Wiley since we are buying it off your site?

    FAR - 71, 68, 74, (8/31/14) 78 ✔
    REG - 67, 71, 71, (10/18/14) 78 ✔
    BEC - (11/29/14) 86 ✔
    AUD - 73, (4/4/15) 86 ✔

I've used Wiley for every exam. I think 30 mcq is a good starting point per section to gauge your knowledge but I firmly believe that you should have completed every mcq in the test bank before your exam, and you should be “in the green” on every section, meaning your score should be 75% or higher. You can go back and re-answer questions you've gotten wrong and the percentages will change.

Rather than just answering the questions though, I think you should be conscious of why you got the answer correct or incorrect. Using Jeff's phrase, you should be aware of the “fact nugget” that is presented in each question…

As for simulations, I think that as long as you are doing well on MCQs, simulations should not be difficult. You will probably not see a simulation exactly like one that you've studied, so I find studying simulations to be a waste of time that you could be using on MCQs.

    AUD - 84 - 5/31/12 (lost credit), re-take 5/28/14
    REG - 83 - 12/7/12
    BEC - 80 - 2/27/13
    FAR - 69 - 11/30/13, 80 - 2/28/14

@CR7 don't bother with the comprehension test… it's a waste of time. I think you should stay in practice mode so that you are seeing the correct answers after every question and using that knowledge to move forward. In test mode, you will have to answer 90 questions and then go back and look at what you got wrong 2-3 hours ago. It is a lot easier to absorb the info regarding why an answer is correct/incorrect on an individual basis and immediately following the question.

Yes I will definitely be reading the explanation for each question, and I will make sure I do more than 30 questions per day on the weekends. I'm going to set the goal of finishing all questions in the bank 🙂

Jeff,I will purchase the WT bank here not just to save money, but as a token of appreciation for making this site. After I got a 74 on FAR, I think I would have quit if it weren’t for this site, and all the stories I read.

    hopecounter, thanks for the tip.
