    Wiley Question –

    Hi studiers! I’m needing some advice on which to choose. I’ve done free trials for both Wiley and Yaeger. A little background on me… I started studying a few years ago and tried to take FAR twice. I used Roger and, of course, loved the energy of his lectures. I just need more details and explanation. He moved and spoke too fast for me. I like the structure of keeping you on track of Wiley and the exam bank. I like the cost and old school approach of Yaeger, as well as the AICPA blueprint. It just seems like I don’t hear alot about Yaeger anymore. Is there something I’m missing? Any advice would be so appreciated!!!

    Also – one more thing.. do I wait and buy 2019 materials? When do those come out? I don’t plan to sit until Q1 next year.

    @Jen,
    Hope you can get some great advise. I am on the same boat. What you'll probably be told is that it doesn't matter what course as long as that whatever works best for your study style and to study very hard. Then you'll be recommended the $67 a month for Ninja which has worked out great for many on here. Yaegar is definitely very unpopular these days, but its a good course nonetheless. The thing with these courses is they all have their pros and cons. I am.personally going a la carte and take it one course at a time. To what I have read, Wiley is glitchy and a super popular course, but not too recommended. Again, it all depends on the individual and no matter what you take if you study very hard and are commited you will be fine. Hope that you can get better feedback than the one I have provided.

    I used Wiley for BEC. I like the way their test bank and the bite size lectures are set up but I did notice some of the questions had a minimum explanation as to why they were correct or incorrect. I don't know that having the largest test bank is a benefit really? I only went through 70% of the available questions for BEC. I didn't try the Yaeger free trial so I cant really compare it to Wiley.
    I decide to go with Wiley again for AUD which I will be taking Q1 2019 and the log in info that I got show 2019 material (or at least that's what the title is).

    Hi Jen,

    Raul hit the nail on the head.

    I use Wiley, along with Ninja, I find this combination to work well. While I have only studied for REG and FAR so far this on this journey, I would say the video lectures on FAR are pretty good, if you prefer watching rather to reading. My only gripe with Wiley is the occasional lack of explanation. For instance, a question that you answer incorrectly will you tell you it is wrong because it is wrong, without going to further detail as to WHY. Sometimes there will be that one-off where the explanation provided doesn't quite match up with the question, whether it being numbers and so forth.

    I know for Wiley you shouldn't have to wait until 2019 to purchase new material. When I asked for an updated REG book, they mentioned that new material was being released in late November. It is to my understanding too if you place your exam date after Jan for REG, for example, it will contain the 2019 material.

    I hope you are able to find study material that best suits your style of learning/studying, and good luck!

    Thank you all for the feedback. I, too, noticed the explanations with my Wiley trial. That might drive me crazy due to my need for details 🙂 I’m leaning towards Yaeger and hope to make my decision I’m the next week. This helps so much though and again, thank you.
