    Hello!!

I took REG in May 2011, failed with a 71. Used Becker. Test scores said average on M/C questions but below average on Simulations.

So now I’m studying for REG again and my test is scheduled for August 15th. I feel like I need new questions to work and although I passed the past 3 exams with Becker, I wasn’t well prepared for the REG sims!!

Is the Wiley Online Software worth it? Any review would help! Thank you so much!

@TaxGoddess, I failed REG too with Becker, although it's not Becker's fault. I too need new MCQs, Becker's MCQs are just toooo familiar now. I'm purchasing Wiley today, I will let you know what I think! 🙂

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

I purchased the Wiley test bank and Ninja notes in addition to Becker due to all the discussions on this board about Becker. Although I have not successfully taken a full REG exam due to technical issues, I feel like both have been very useful. The Wiley questions, at times, can be more advanced than the Becker questions. Because of this, I would recommend supplementing Becker. I'm not comfortable with tax so I need all the help I can get!!

    Best of Luck!!

    BEC: 75 11/8/10
    AUD: 89 2/22/11
    FAR: 78 5/17/11
    REG: 72, 83 10/17/11
    DONE!!!!

i believe the wiley gives u a subscription online so you wont get screwed when the CSOs and stuff change if you are in middle of a year. For instance you pay 200 dollars for the dvd of 2011 but you wont finish cpa untill 2012…u gotta buy it again to stay up to date.

Also the DVD version many people have techincal issues with it. I can say from personal experience I hated the dvd version of the Wiley software in 2011 i did many uninstall and reinstalls.

The cheapest option is to buy a DVD of it on ebay you can probably get it for under 100 dollars – original, not cdr and take your chances with the installations

    NEW YORK- DONE

I used Wiley for BEC in 2010. I just bought the book and studied from that. When I was about 2 weeks away from my exam, I purchased the online practice question bank. I returned it two days later. I don't know if it's the same for every section, but I seriously got through all of the questions in about 4 hours. It just didn't seem like there were enough questions, and I was just memorizing them on the second day. I stuck with the book. Just my opinion…

I used the Wiley test bank for all 4 exams. I thought it was great for FAR and AUD and decent for REG and BEC. I don't know if they've added questions since 2010 or if erincritchfield is super-fast, but there is no way I could have done all the BEC problems in 4 hours. There is a problems with how the SIMS are scored. It will say an answer is incorrect even if it's right if it's in a different order or doesn't have the same number of significant digits as the test bank answer. It's annoying, but not a huge deal as long as you're aware of it.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

I read on a review blog that Gleim MCQ's are the best. The author of the blog is a Yaeger student, and they use the Wiley books and online test bank. I just started studying for my first section 3 weeks ago, but once I get done with the lectures I'm going to buy the Gleim questions. For REG, I think you would have to buy 2 sets b/c Law and Tax are separate, but they are on sale now for $29.95 (they were $54.95 when I looked the other day). Good luck!
