    Hi everyone.

Any thoughts on either skipping or completing Wiley’s TBS and WC components?

And if you skipped these lessons, how did you best prepare for these portions on the exam?

    Thanks!

I was just wondering the same thing about the WCs!

In Wiley, I always skip the diagnostic exams. I stil do the TBSes but I go through them pretty fast. I see what I did wrong and move on. I and don't spend a ton of time on them. As far as practicing TBSes prior to the exam, I do the Ninja practice ones and the ones on the Wiley practice exams in my review week.

For the WC, I just started BEC this week and got my first WC set last night. The self-scoring thing looked laughable so I just skipped it. I have a really hard time seeing how it would benefit. I plan on watching youtube videos on how to do these during my review phase.

Thanks for your input. I also skip the diagnostic assessments at first, but after each module I go back and treat them as a second form of Post Assesments. Also that’s a really good idea to look up on YouTube because I agree that the self grading is horrible.

My friend passed BEC with a 95 and used Wiley and said he never did a single WC. He was the one that suggested just watching a few videos on how to do the template possible.

I used Wiley to pass BEC and didn't do a single WC. I looked up a general format to use when answering the questions and memorized that format. I would also suggest at least reading a few of their example answers to get a general sense of what theyre looking for. Also, their examples seem to be very long and the actual test does not require as much text to get a good score.

    Best of luck to everyone.

I used Becker as my main course but did supplement with Wiley tb. I would suggest study all the MCQs on Wiley and flag the ones you get wrong. Repeatedly go through and review all flagged questions as you get closer to your exam. I literally did this exact process for all my exams and it end up working

I have taken a couple after doing a bunch of TBS and doing none and score about the same. I have Becker and one of the things I like most about them is the TBS videos they have where they walk you through the thought process and completing the sim. I think it's always better to do a few of them and get a feel for the kinds of things you might see, the mechanics of answering, etc.

As far as WC, I can't see how it would be helpful to practice those and didn't at all leading up to BEC. I would definitely suggest watching any videos in your review course on general strategy for approaching those questions. There is a very specific formula (think the “5 Paragraph” approach to high school essays) that works well for these things. Main thing about BEC is doing the other parts at a quick enough pace so that you have plenty of time to dedicate to the written section. They aren't hard but they do take up some time.
