I dont know how this went under the FAR section but it pertains to REG. These questions are beyond ridiculous….

    REG- 68, 71, July
    AUD- 61 , 84
    FAR- -- 75 🙂

This exam is definitely mental too. I just started with the Wiley software on Monday and I'm getting in the 40-50 range so far. It messes with my mind mentally, but I know by the time I sit I'll be in the 70-80s. It has happened that way for both FAR & BEC….it still messes with my mind though.

up to almost 60% right 🙂 That was just on tax though

I guess I can start getting somewhat confident after I hit 85% right on these. Seriously though, REG is horrible

After doing those questions for an hour, I never did them again because I thought they were too ridiculous. Things went okay though.

so the questions you saw on the wiley online testbank are not similar to what you saw on the test? Most of these questions are really tricky IMO and I will hurt me come test time. What are your thoughts since you passed REG with such a high score? Have any advice?

I honestly don't know how I got this score. I walked out feeling so terrible and thought that I must have gotten a 60 or something. I used becker and it wasn't detailed enough for the real thing. I did get lucky and get 2 research SIMS. I changed my answers on the rest of the sims quite a few times, but I think it was helpful that I had almost 2 hours to work on them so that is key. Practice answering the MCQs quickly and accurately. If I knew I had no idea what the answer was I just chose any answer and moved on without second thoughts. If you have Wiley, you should use it and think of it as an opportunity to learn new things instead of concentrating on your scores are for them. Don't let it discourage you. Some of their questions are quite not related to REG in my opinion.

My advice is to take one chapter at a time and not move to the next one till you are comfortable with the MC. When you get the questions wrong go back to the topic and study it again, that way it will enforce your knowledge in addition to the explanation that you got from the MC.

By the end of the chapter you should have a list of topics that you are least comfortable with and make sure you have notes on these topics to read before the exam.

The simulations are hard but not deadly, the material comes from the books that we use but is taken a step further and asks us to apply it.

    Good luck

I'm using the Wiley test bank, and they don't seem that bad. I mean, they're a little tricky, but nothing I can't figure out after practicing.

@mark – I passed with CPAexcel. I also had the Wiley testbank (for REG), but I didn't like it as much. To each their own I guess.

It's funny actually, while I was waiting for my last REG score, I bought the Wiley testbank and started doing some questions because I was sure that I had passed REG (wrong!). I think I scored like a 70% on my first set of 20 from the Wiley testbank.. which really freaked me out since I thought I knew a lot more than that. Turns out I got an 85… so CPAexcel must have done something right.
