Is the REG Practice Exam in the Wiley Book easier than the actual exam?

    I just took the REG Practice Exam found in the back of the 2011 Wiley Book and I got an 87. I thought a lot of the questions were easy. And on top of that, the Simulations on the practice exam were complete jokes. Based on the horror stories I read on this site, I probably can expect the Sims on the real exam to be significantly harder.

    For those who took the Wiley practice exam and then took the real exam, did you find the Wiley exam easier than the real exam?

    I’m asking this question because I want to know if that 87 means anything or if I should take it with a grain of salt.

    I scored in the low 70's on the Wiley Sample REG Exam and I'm supposed to sit for the actual exam in 2 days. I'm seriously considering postponing my exam date but would love to hear feedback from others.

    Based on my experience, I would say that the MCQ on the actual exam resembles the ones at wiley software – wordiness/difficulty-wise. But the TBS on the actual is a little harder then the ones at wiley. Well, of course that depends on the type of TBS you got on the actual. I was able to say that the actual is harder than the wiley software sims because of numerous tax-forms filling-up samples on the software. On the actual, there are pretty difficult ones that you might have never seen or heard before(esp if REG is your first exam), but there are also straigt-forward sims that are pretty easy. It somehow depends on the luck of draw, as well.

    FAR: 7/3(87)
    BEC: 8/31(75)
    AUD: 11/15(81)
    REG: 8/31(83)
    I'M DONE!!!!!

    Exam is harder but if you're doing well with Wiley you should be fine

    @Magayon that is very helpful.

    The Wiley sims do seem a bit easy. Scoring in the low 70s only Wiley practice exams doesn't give me much confidence especially if the SIMS are harder on the actual exam. I decided to postpone my exam a few more weeks, better to be safe than sorry.
