Just wanted to throw a question out to the forum concerning UWorld Roger CPA Review Phillips CPA Exam Review. I have used Becker over the past 8 years (never really studied as hard as I should. Got close when I did for AUD – 70), but I grew tired of the online lectures. So I did some research and liked the way Roger teaches his course. Bottom line, I signed up for it and after last saturday’s class, I think I am going to regret it.

Anyone take Roger? If so, what were your experiences? The other issue is that in addtion to my Audit Manager role at our firm, I have a wife and two kids under 3 at home whom I love dearly and would hate to give up too much time with for this. I am taking FAR 2/27/10 and have budgeted between 135 and 145 hours of study time. FAR has always been weak for me and I don’t know how much more failing I can take. I am “glass ceilinged” as a manager right now and need to pass. Thanks for any advice in advance.

Best wishes and may all of our 75 dreams come true.

I know a couple of people who have passed with his program, but think your money is better spent elsewhere.

The best thing about Roger is the book he wrote. Roger talks very fast and no one can read his writing. If it were not for Roger's book, I would be lost. I use Roger to start off my studying, especially for dry subjects like AUD. However, the 2010 version for AUD will not be available until March 2010.

My #1 teaching course is Yaeger. Yaeger is less expensive than Roger. (Use the discount code from another71.) Yaeger has DVDs that you can watch on TV; Roger does not have DVDs. There is no expiration date for Yaeger; Roger expires after 9 months. Additionally, if you leave your computer for 30 minutes, the online program expires!

Yaeger gives you the biggest bang for the buck ($345 per course with the discount). Roger cost me $550 with the discount. (Roger charges $50 for handling and shipping. Yager charges only $10.) Yaeger uses the best book, Wiley, which is included in Yaeger's course. You will also get Wiley's Exam Review Software on a CD with the Yaeger program. Additionally, Yaeger goes over hundreds of multiple choice questions.

I have been fairly happy with his online course. Very easy to follow and entertaining (which makes it easier for me to follow and retain). Books is written in common language (as others mentioned). I knocked out FAR on the first try (no small feat for me) and showed improvement on Audit under Roger CPA Review.

    Lion Grad,

I've used wiley only to pass 3 parts of the exam on the first try….I did try outs with becker, roger, and a cram with yaeger …in all cases I found out that the courses are no covering all and every single subject that the MC's questions are on…I believe the key is to do as many MC's as you can….I always did the MC's 3 times…and a 4th time on the weaker subjects….Now I'm preparing for FAR and using Roger just because he is energetic and teaches all the lectures himself….but I'm not relying on Roger to pass…You have to relied on yourself and put the time on it….The questions on the exam are pretty much like the questions in the prep books….go to AICPA website and look up the sample tests…..
