Roger CRAM vs. Yaegar CRAM

I’ve watched both demos and I am favoring UWorld Roger CPA Review. I literally laughed out loud twice. I’ve heard people say good things about Yaeger, but he seems rather dull. I will be using one of them for REG. Any suggestions?

Yaeger gave me a 15 point boost for REG; I will let you know for FAR.

Also, I didn't like Roger's expiration policy – you can only watch it 2 or 3 times.

I was debating purchasing both Yager CRAM and Roger CRAM. I ended up going with Roger purely because of the demo video comparison.

I'm about half way through the FAR CRAM and its ok. I was expecting better. I actually like my Becker final review materials better. It seems like a more concise explanation of a lot of the topics. Roger has been good for giving me an alternative perspective on some topics I struggled with. I really like how he explains leases and bonds as well as exchanges. I'm hoping his lectures on governmental and NFP are more in depth than Becker.

I purchased the Wiley focus notes as well. They seem really helpful in making big flash cards with visual images to sum up topics. I'm a very visual learner so I'm hoping this helps everything to sink in.

    Good Luck!

I have Roger's full course and I like him for the exact same reason you mentioned…he tries to make it amusing which isn't easy to do when you're talking accounting. I literally LOL many times throughout the lecture.

I wasn't a C accounting student so I think he explains things well too-afterall that's what really matters.

Sorry-I meant to say that I “was” a C accounting student.

Holla for our C students taking the exam! Sometimes I think I'm alone. All these overachievers bustin' out with 99's thinking they failed because they didn't know 3 questions…puh.

C's get degrees. 75's keep you alive.

So, I'm completing my Roger CRAM this week and now towards the end, I'm so thankful that I purchased this. Roger keeps you motivated and actually makes you want to watch the lectures because you know you'll learn something. Plus he is really funny. I can't say that about good ole Tim Gearty. Roger's CRAM makes leases and bonds, statement of cash flows, and foreign currency issues so simple. They instantly click with his method and it never did with Becker. I like how he incorporates IFRS for each topic as well. If you're still debating what to buy, I'd definitely go with Roger CRAM

I was probably going to go with RogerCRAM since Yaegar seemed a little too stiff for me. BUT, I passed REG, which I didn't think I was going to, and no longer have to take a cram course (lucky me).

But if Roger would do a CMA CRAM course, I'd buy since that's my next endeavor. He was pretty funny in the 20 minute demo I saw.

Roger and Yeager both use the Wiley book for homework questions, so the real difference is going to be the videos. Pick whichever instructor you think you'll best from, and can actually stand listening to for hours and hours on end. The videos only matter if you can stand to watch them.

What about a Roger CRAM v.s. his full course? Just curious because I definitely want to use one for my re-takes.

    Starting all over.
