I’ve heard a lot about Gleim and Becker being significantly harder than the actual exam. Wondering if anyone can comment on how UWorld Roger CPA Review’s sims compare?

I have been using Roger to study and took FAR two weeks ago. Roger's SIMs (and MCQ for that matter) have been pretty on point on point for me – I feel like all of the practice questions I've done have prepared me well for what to expect re: question format, material covered, etc. I've been comfortable getting through the SIMS on all the exams taken so far. I don't think the SIMs were significantly harder than the exam with Roger – maybe a little bit, but if anything I would prefer the practice to be more difficult than the exam itself, granted that I'm actually learning from the practice – and Roger has given great explanations in their SIM answers, which helped me get really comfortable with them.

The best way I can describe it would be to take the 8 hardest SIMS from Roger's, and try to do them all in a row in 2-2.5 hours.
The simple drop down box type SIMS are no longer in play as far as I can tell.
The longer SIMS with lots of document tabs more closely represent what you might expect.

Good question! I am currently struggling with FAR – after successfully passing all others using Roger on my first try.

Personally I have not studied the SIMS much for the exams. I rather work on concepts and MCQ to solidify understanding which helps tremendously on any SIMS the exam throws out.

What I always try to remember when I get frustrated with Becker Sims is that many people have passed with [insert reputable service here] and many people are going to pass in the future. If others were able to make it through, so can you. Some people need more time/preparation than others, but it's all there. I realize this doesn't answer the question, but I have wasted A LOT of money buying other services because a couple people here said it helped them. Ultimately, you are using a reputable service that has worked for many in the past – practice the sims and you will be fine. You are never going to feel confident going into the test no matter what service you use!
