    Hi,

I have failed BEC and am diving back in for the “fun in the sun Q2 April” section of BEC. Does anyone have experience with both UWorld Roger CPA Review & NINJA MCQ for BEC in specific. I like the interface of NINJA much better for other sections. But I have failed in the past with Ninja MCQ. Any thoughts are much appreciated.

    All the best

2017 Roger material is very similar to 2016, maybe 10% of lectures across all 4 sections have updates. The Roger IPQ is still easier than Ninja MCQ.

Conceptually, the exam material is basically the same.

I used both (Roger Book, Video, MCQ) and Ninja (book, mcc, audio) and passed (I also have a degree in accounting in IS and had previous experience with cost accounting so I understood variances pretty easily though). It's going to be a lot harder now though…

I can say Roger's IPQ are a little bit easier as there are less lengthy and complex calculations but I honestly think you can pass with either one if you have at least the book (learn and retain) and do the MCQ (application) and use what you have. And if you like vid lectures, his are pretty good for BEC and REG.

Wait for a sale or something or get a new credit card. It's a big investment so if you are going to get one use it to the best of your ability. Roger does have a payment plan where you pay monthly.

It's going to cost more if you keep taking it. I think you should use the sample/preview function for both and decide which you like better. The one thing I can say is there hasn't been much that changed in BEC (in material) so you can always use an old book from AMZ or see what your library has. But considering the time and 100+ fee for each exam, I think I'd rather play it safe, but you can take the gamble if you want. Best of luck.

If money is an issue, a current copy of the $140 Wiley CPAExcel book is a heck of a bargain. It includes a ton of questions.
