REG – Becker, Ninja Notes, Ninja audio, AND Wiley?

I have passed BEC, FAR, and AUD on my first try. I know this might seem ridiculous question at first, but I REALLY want to make sure I pass REG and be done with it. So far, this is what I’ve done…

    BEC – Becker only – 78

    FAR – Becker + NINJA Notes – 86

    AUD – Becker + NINJA Notes + Ninja Audio – 98

For REG, I am considering doing Becker, Ninja Notes, Ninja audio, AND Wiley questions. I’m wondering if part of the reason I’ve done so well so far is that re-doing the Becker questions over and over really engraves the material into my head. Typically, I re-work all of the Becker problems 4-6 times, taking notes on the ones I get wrong or don’t understand each time. Now, if I add Wiley, I will obviously not be able to do them as many times. Are the REG questions, for the most part, fairly quick to complete? For example, in AUD, at one point, I could do 3-4 questions per minute, but when I did FAR, some sections had questions that took 1-3 minutes each to complete.

Thanks for any comments or suggestions, and good luck to all!

It looks like what you've done in the past has been working well for you, so I would honestly just stick with it. We have very similar scores, and I followed my same study strategy for REG and passed with some points to spare. I would make sure you do a good final review of the material for REG – there's a lot of little details that are hard to memorize but are easier to recall if you've done a good overall review. Good luck!

My guess is that you are really disciplined and will pass either way.

Tough call (…go ahead and buy it lol) 🙂

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 80
    FAR - 76
    REG - 92

You arent really changing your approach, you are just supplementing with some additional materials. I agree with Jeff, you are probably going to pass either way. I would error on the side of having more material to look at. It is good to see the same concept explained a couple of different ways.

I love how someone who got a 98 on audit asking people should him change his study methods after passing first 3 on first try!! Its LOL to me. You mean you over studied and now you want to change ur method so you can get a lower passing score on REG? For all the parts I passed, I never finished watching Becker lecture or MCQs ( for example, skipped A5 and A6 completely and spent 1hrs going over flashcard b4 i went into prometric to take the exam). Never look at Final Exam provided by the Becker. OFC my laziness caused me 6 tries to finish the CPA Exam.

Anyway the answer to your question is I see 0% for you to fail the REG exam if you going to do Becker+Ninja+Wiley and 4-6times on Becker problems (HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Thanks for the quick responses guys. Also, would you guys say that REG questions take less time to think about and answer (like AUD) or more like FAR?

I would say the calculation questions are more like FAR. However, there aren't as many of those as there are in FAR. So it will go a little quicker than FAR but not nearly as fast as AUD. Does that make any sense?

The B-Law questions will slow you down more than the tax questions.

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 80
    FAR - 76
    REG - 92

if you are doing so well in your study habits then i guess you should not change this only becasue you might end up having a more difficult time adjusting to new techniques and methods. it is best that you stick first with how you usually do and see how things goes i guess if you don't have prior problems with you study techniques then you should be ok.i hope that you do pass and i wish you all the best!

As someone who scored a 98 on AUD, 81 on FAR, and 85 on BEC on the first try using only Becker. I highly recommend using Wiley for REG. Maybe you have a better tax background than I do, but studying the same way as the other 3 I ended up with a 74 and 71 on REG. I bought the Wiley test bank and ninja audio and scored an 82 the next go. I really feel that Becker had serious deficiencies with REG. The first time I opened Wiley I was amazed at the topics I had not even heard of. If I could go back and do it again I would have saved myself the test fees and just bought Wiley up front. Jeff's audio also helped drive some of the details home through repeated listening. Not to knock Becker, because it obviously worked well for me 3 out of 4 times. Just my $.02.

    AUD: 98
    FAR: 81
    BEC: 85
    REG: 74, 71, 82!!!!!!
