    NINJA Question –

Wanted to give Jeff his proper dues here.

I hate lectures, and never was a note taker. Ninja MCQ was the best investment I ever made…thank you Jeff!!! To be fair…I also used Wiley Test Bank towards my final review to get another source of MCQ, but Ninja MCQ was used about 90% of my study time. I did roughly 5,000 attempts each section. Anything I was struggling with, I googled. Passed all 4 parts, 1st try, in about 5 months, working 50 hours a week and a full-time Dad.

It can be done if you study smart, and put in the time. Good luck to all. NO EXCUSES!!

    You serious?

I've been looking for an efficient way to study. minimum effort, max results. So just drill MCQs? I got the wiley test bank. Maybe I'll get the ninja one after. I hate lectures + reading the book.

I've been always interested to know how you can learn a concept by only answering questions, how can you see the big picture? how do you know a whole process?
I understand if you watch the videos and jump to the MCQs, at least there is background to start with

Very possible, and well done. This only works if you have the natural ability to learn solely from mcq. I don't even like the process that much because it almost seems like you're not understanding the concepts as a whole, rather just on a question by question basis. Good on you though for doing it

It is relatively easy to pick up the major concepts if you always read the explanations and the other links provided. That is more important than just answering the question.

I'm with you Pharaoh. I just would not tackle MCQs blindly. I need to know first the underlying concepts before I jump into MCQ wagons. It's just me.

I can't sit through lectures or read thru the book long enough. I tried it with REG and i phase out after awhile.

This time, I'm going to read flash cards and wiley focus notes then tackle MCQs.

That's impressive. I had to do lectures, I wouldn't have been able to make it without Roger, I've been out of college for too long. However, I can say I never read a book, or even a chapter of a book for that matter!

Congrats! I think the most important thing for everyone is to figure out how you learn and use that to develop your study plans. For some people (myself included), the concepts are learned through example. I can't just read the book or listen to the lecture because it's not relatable. But give me a real life example, and I'll know and understand it forever. It's a much better use of my study time.

for those that used he mcq's only did you ever feel like you should be doing something else? Like reading the chapter or writing notes? I looked at some posts where some might have used notes only but I feeling like you might miss something or run across questions that was not thoroughly covered in the notes…..have anyone tried and passed with the pass in 20 days challenge?

I think you guys are missing the point. I passed CISA only doing questions. MCQ's will absolutely work for most people it just depends upon how you do each questions.

You do a questions and whether you get it right or wrong you read the entire explanation and make sure that you absolutely know why the correct answer is correct and why each incorrect answer is wrong and how it could possibly be correct if the question was changed. Do not move to the next question until you understand the question you are doing. Use youtube if you need help understanding why a question is right or wrong.

I tried studying with the book then MCQ. Guess what? I didn't pass. For me, reading the book didn't work. Watching lectures would take too long.

I think what most of us need are key points. Key topics. Someone needs to make threads about them. Learn those fast then jump to MCQs. I probably won't waste anytime reading pages after pages and watching lectures imo waste my time. They're too long.

I used the same approach as OP. I just did MCQs one subsection at a time. It may be difficult to get the overall concept but if you break it down per subsection, it starts to flesh itself out. I just stopped taking notes all together and did it by memory only. Very bare-bones approach but it got the job done. I think I saved myself a lot of reading and watching. I personally think book and lectures are useless to me (not everyone else). Just figure out how you learn the best and put in the work.

It can be done, but it's definitely not for everybody. Just don't do what I did for my last FAR attempt (MCQing it out over 27 days, then sit when your average is in the 50s), which winded up as an epic fail. Take your time and try to go slow. But in the end, it would be better off for some to read the book/watch lectures to get a background before diving in blindly.

EDIT: BTW, Congrats to the OP!
