NINJA notes… Am I doing it wrong?

So, I’m working on a review period after having finished Becker. I’m rewriting the NINJA notes and I feel like I’m doing something wrong. I find myself just zoning out and writing them without actually retaining most of it. Is this normal? Do I need to slowly write them while speaking them out loud or something? I feel like I’m wasting my time, but I think that is a problem with me rather than with the notes considering how helpful most people seem to find them… any advice?

Don't just write them to get it out of the way. I think that saying it out would help. Also think about what you are writing and try to associate it with MCQs you have completed. Are you taking breaks in between? If not, try rewriting about a topic, then stop and think about it to make sure it makes sense. If you just rewrite your notes and the information does not make sense then you are probably just wasting your time. Well it would be in my case.

I have somewhat of the same problem. In school I had to give up typing notes because I would zone out, but writing out notes worked really well for me. Now, not so much. When rewriting the NINJA notes it helps me to jot down a quick phrase or note in a different color of ink that expands on the topic slightly or restates things in terms that I would use to explain it to others. If there's a note I where I can't think of something to add to it, it probably means I need to review the concept a little better.
