Hey ! Missed this post.
Section: FAR
Trending Score: 81
Actual Score: 90 (YAY!)
Additional Comments:
Bought Ninja MCQ for FAR 1 week prior to exam. Only had 24 hours with it / answered 500 questions, so I didn't make it past the assessment. Should have more data on Regulation.
To prepare for this exam I studied for approx 200 hours across 6 weeks.
This is my second attempt at the CPA exam, my first was in 2011-2012. I gave up when my scores started expiring in 2012, after I had failed FAR three times, with a 74 EACH time. By the time I had gotten the third 74, I had found my first salaried job. The commute was over an hour, and I couldn't bear to have to take FAR a fourth time and then (at the minimum) have to retake AUD (which was the first one I passed, in 2011).
I primarily used the WTB for this section (which I do not plan on using again, unless I do not perform as well on REG with Ninja).
I've always found to study best by answering MCQ (it's the most engaging way for me to study tedious material,) I almost always look at answer explanations and reference materials, especially when I get the question wrong. If I do not understand why it is wrong, I do further research and/or reading.
Also listened to Ninja Audio twice, had my manager's 2015 Becker textbooks for reference materials, and the 24 hours on Ninja MCQ.
It's weird, I could never stand to listen to any of my professors back in college (when I even went to class,) but for some reason, I don't hate listening to Jeff (this is the sincerest form of flattery!) It's very hard to keep this stuff straight and interesting, and the Audio definitely makes a good summary of things you need to know, without getting too detailed for an audio tape.
I also had the Ninja Plus presentation and audio while the MCQ was down the weekend before my exam, and while it was also just as good, I did not notice much of a difference between the audio and the bonus content, only the format is substantially different in my opinion.
