I’m taking AUD tomorrow, a section that I have passed before but has expired a couple of times. I previously used Becker for it. I’m taking it tomorrow and have been studying for about a month now using Gleim. For anyone using GLEIM that took the exam rehearsal, how close was that rehearsal score to your actual exam score? I have the WILEY test software from a few years ago and got 72% on a practice exam last night and this morning I used my GLEIM software and go at 71%. There are obviously some areas that I need to work on in these last few hours before my early exam tomorrow. If anyone can share their score in GLEIM’s practice exam rehearsal vs the actual test, that would be helpful. I’m just trying to determine how close I am at this point.

I think I got a 68 when I took Gleim's practice exam for FAR and wound up with a 76 actual. This was also my first ever CPA exam so keep that in mind as well..

I don't remember exactly but it was about a 81-83 range on the practice exam for Gleim, for the actual exam I got a 90.

I was scoring the low 60's for FAR and REG, and got 77 and 79, respectively.

Seriously thanks for your quick responses @ez_sims_4_me_pls, @jakalis and @NeedsA75.

and @ez_sims_4_me_pls – just curious, did you think GLEIM wasn't enough? Were you using NINJA and GLEIM concurrently? I do have the NINJA course but planning to use that for FAR and REG. Would you recommend that I use both NINJA and GLEIM going forward? Judging by your passing scores I just thought I'd ask.

    THANK YOU

I thought Gleim was enough. I was only using Gleim. Their MC test bank is pretty amazing. If you can master those questions you will be good on the exam.

I thought I would post a follow-up. Today I found out that I passed AUD with an 81. I didn’t finish the entire Auditing Review Program with GLEIM. I completed 5 chapters following their structure and then changed my strategy since I was running out of time before my test (5 out of 20 chapters is about 25% of what they recommend). The reason I did this is because for FAR I followed their method (did all 20 chapters, everything in there plus the exam rehearsal) and still failed. I was starting to really feel a lack of confidence in GLEIM and thinking that doing each and every chapter the way they lay it out was just a waste of time. For anyone that doesn’t know, GLEIM is comprehensive. In comparison to a program like BECKER which might have like less than 10 chapters for AUD, GLEIM breaks it into 20 chapters with MCQ, T/F, Video/Audit Lecture, Reading the book, SIMs, and plenty of MCQ.

I focused my time for 1 ½ months working multiple choice questions with GLEIM’s test bank (did 1,600 MCQ). The questions I did were mainly always on the weak areas. No use in spending time doing questions you are stronger in and concepts you know. I work FT and was spending ~20 hours per week studying. I also did about 40 SIMs. I think knowing that the exam weight is 60% MCQ and 40% SIMS, I didn’t want to skip out and not do any SIMS as I have learned the hard way. The day before my exam, I did cram staying up until 2AM when my exam was at 8AM. My overall averages in GLEIM using their test bank weren’t spectacular (63% average) and then I took the GLEIM exam rehearsal scoring 71%. I had the Wiley software which is outdated but I used that to try something different and scored a 72%. I also skimmed a Becker final review book that I had lying around from 2 years ago to help me remember some key concepts. Additionally, I also used my old Becker flashcards for AUD. All in all, I would say I spent about 120 hours studying for AUD and passed. All I was hoping for was a 75 but luckily I scored in the 80s. THANK YOU LAAAAAWD.

I just started using Gleim's test bank a couple weeks ago for my REG retake. Their mcq's are way harder than Ninja or Roger's and the sims are much more difficult. I like how they look and feel like you're doing them on the actual exam.

I don't take practice tests, but I'm only averaging 67% after a little over 1000 mcq's. This is after averaging 72% on Ninja after doing 3000 mcq's and scoring stronger on them for my exam. Gleim is no joke and I'm hoping it's just what I needed to pass REG and be done forever!

    FAR: 75 Roger & Ninja (notes/flashcards/audio/MCQ)
    AUD: 73, 81
    BEC: 71, retake 8/29

Just wanted to add to this. For all my studies to this point I have used Gleim exclusively. FAR was the first exam I have ever taken so wasn't entirely sure what to expect going into it.

    FAR Rehearsal: 58
    FAR Actual: 76

    AUD Rehearsal: 74
    AUD Actual: 81

I love and hate Gleim at the same time. Love the fact that to this point I've passed everything on the first attempt. Hate that Gleim really beats you down when you're studying!
