    Hi,

I am just starting my CPA journey and recently purchased cpaexcel platinum course. I just was going through the exam passing scores thread to see what others use. And most of the posts either say Gleim CPA Review or Ninja audio or Becker. I haven’t seen any for cpaexcel, which is making me question my decision. Please help. Have anyone of you had good experience with cpaexcel and the latest exam format?

I have a friend who passed all four exams first try and used CPAExcel, he loved it. Don't worry about the material, cause in the end, it's not the material that determines if you'll pass or not, it's you that will determine that. I've used Roger and passed three in a row, and sure there might be small things I would change about Roger, but the reason I passed is cause I basically said goodbye to my wife, family, and friends and have studied hard. Sure some study course might be slightly better than the other, but in the end, they're all teaching the same material, it's just up to you to study that material hard.

I agree with @Nate. The reason you pass is because you are dedicated and study the material at length. I have used Surgent only and passed 2 parts and waiting on my score for AUD.

Do not question your decision. You can pass with any review course. I also have platinum CPAexcel and am 3/3 and awaiting my 4th results, all in about 7 months. It all comes down to your dedication. I also very highly recommend supplementing with Ninja

Wiley CPAexcel is quite popular here … as is Roger … and Becker … and Gleim … and of course, NINJA 😉 … and others (Surgent, Yaeger, etc).

People pass with every course under the sun.

Thank you all for your replies. I hope I can do as good as you guys did. I just am jittery as I know its going to be very tough for me with a full time job and a toddler. Your posts have refreshed my enthusiasm though!

I used Ninja and CPAexcel for AUD, BEC and FAR which I cleared in first attempt. I used only Ninja for my last paper REG which I am expecting on March 20. From my experience in 3 papers which I cleared, whatever familiar questions tested will be same in Ninja, CPAexcel, Becker or any material. There will be other unfamiliar questions/TBS which you will see for the first time in your life no matter which course you studied. So it does not really matter. The purpose of using two courses is to get as much practice as possible. So you will not be able to afford two courses if you buy Becker. With Ninja available for lesser than cost of a Latte, and CPAexcel question-bank for around $80, I think you'll be well prepared.

I used both Becker and CPA Excel. I can tell you that you can pass with any review course under the sun for sure.

I felt CPA Excel was HEAVY on FAR… it is almost too much material but GOOD for somebody whose been out of school for a long time (myself). I didn't pass on section with Becker. Of course one reason wasn't applying myself – but I also felt Becker is really gearing towards candidates in public accounting (thus a lot of fresh grads) and focuses on the best information to get you to a pass.

Some of us need a total reboot. I heard good things about Roger and Gleim. CPA Excel has a “free until you pass” policy which definitely saved my butt.

@manimau You can do this! I used Surgent only and I am 3 for 3 and feel fully prepared for my last section in April. If you are dedicated and learn the material, you will do well. The best thing for me is following a schedule and cutting myself off from a personal life. You got this!

I purchased Wiley CPAexcel platinum at the beginning of the year too based on a few reviews from other websites. I feel your pain because when I signed up here, it was like everyone was passing with other review courses and bashing wiley. However, I started seeing some positive responses to Wiley on here and I'm determined not to let my investment go to waste. I do have some serious issues with Wiley's website but I've been able to work through them so far. Good Luck!
