    Becker Question –

Is it just me, or does everyone struggle on any topics that the Browns teach? I cannot concentrate on the lectures, and the questions appear to much harder vs. Olinto & Gearty led topics. Nothing is straight-forward, questions are more “tricky,” they use uncommon words, etc. Wondering if the Browns write the questions as well.

Is the material more difficult thereby Gearty & Olinto just not want to do the lectures?

Or maybe I am burning out (likely). Working on BEC, which is my last test.

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 88
    FAR - 77
    REG - 77
If my score is 75, I did not study too much or too little!

BEC was my last exam and the first one I simply said to hell with the videos (had Becker all exams). I did it only with Ninja Notes, Audio and MCQ (with a copy of Becker notes from 2016 thrown in – not very useful).

I think I did “try” to watch the videos but was exasperated within about 10 minutes.

I don't know about the difficulty of questions but it was time for a change of scenery.

The only thing that is comparable…. Bueller… Bueller?

    AUD - 77
    BEC - 81
    FAR - 77
    REG - 81
REG - 1. Becker only - fail (forgot to study depr - oops); 2. Becker only - Pass
FAR - 1. Becker only - fail; 2. added Ninja Notes and MCQ - Pass
AUD - 1. Becker videos; Ninja Notes, Audio, MCQ, Becker Notes - Pass
BEC - 1. Ninja Notes, Audio, MCQ, Becker Notes - Pass

I did that in Audit, just skimmed the book and then did the MCQs. Will probably switch to that method from here on out. In the middle of B4 and test is next week. Would really like to not push the test back…

What I found helpful especially for BEC is to listen to lectures. a lot of stuff (outside of cost accounting) is conceptual and I would listen to them in the car. I found that for B5 and B6 it was the best way to go. I couldn't stand sitting there with my book following along, that's just torture. And let me tell you, that I want to send Peter Olinto a fan letter because there is NO BODY better than him:) LOL

Angie Brown was absolutely terrible when I studied BEC with Becker. I was really disappointed and could not believe Becker would produce lectures with such poor quality. However, these videos were from the Old BEC, so maybe Becker made improvements.

All in all, you just have to grind through it and try to get through some of the poorer lectures.

    Goodluck.

I actually rarely use the book. I find that I have no idea what they are saying and am always a step behind because I am writing things down. So I just watch the lectures…unless it is crunch time, then I just to the MCQs. For FAR I did not even do the last 2 modules. same for AUD. Luckily I passed.
