Becker FAR questions insanely long and difficult.

Becker Question – Are these questions pulled out of old exams that were considered “hard” questions? What is the best way to prepare for the actual exam when the actual exam has more simple and straightforward questions? I typically confuse myself when I am used to these long difficult problems and i see too short of problems on the cpa exam.

The only way to prepare is to get through the review course and eventually be somewhere in the 80s on progress tests. It's better to get low grades in the review than on the exam. If you know how to solve complicated problems, then easier shorter questions won't pose a problem. I found that the purpose of these long complicated problems is to make sure you know material well enough so that if during the exam you see something you have never seen, you will know enough to figure it out or at least give it a fighting chance. I definitely saw it in BEC a lot.

Look at released questions for a better idea of what it'll be like on the test.

    BEC - 78
    AUD - 75
    REG - 64, 77
    FAR - 73, 73, 73, 82

How can I look at released questions? Where can I find them?

@Ana, I just looked at the AICPA released questions provided by Roger, and they are honestly like some of the easiest ones I've practiced. Is that really what it's like?

here is a link to the pdf, not sure whether it will work or not. There are three Sims at the very end.

    FAR - 85 (12/17)
    AUD - 80 (1/18)
    REG - 83 (6/18)
    BEC - 85 (7/18)

    Ethics - 95

it's not 100% what it's like but it's more like that than Becker mcq. The difficult testlet has some short but challenging questions. Also it seems like 2017 released questions are a lot easier than previous years. Look those up too. I use google to find them because they're incorporated with all other mcq in Becker.

I can attest exam MCQ are a joke compared to Becker and Ninja, I was mildly insulted:) LOL

@anyatver how would you recommend preparing for the easier MCQ? I'm extremely good at MCQ testing, but very weak in SIMS lol. Would you recommend using Becker or Ninja to do the bulk of my MCQ review?

    AUD - 76
    BEC - 75
    FAR - 80
    REG - 77
scoring > 75 means I studied too hard, right?

as a disclaimer, they feel easy bc we're used to difficult questions while studying. if you only tackle easy questions during review then the test won't feel easy. it's kind of like being over prepared to make sure it's easy on d-day. also the harder mcq from Becker help with sims. I'm not saying to get hung up on the very hard Becker questions, just look at the solution and learn what you can and move on. Just don't avoid them 100%
