Im trying to squueze in BEC before my NTS runs out, so I needed to get through the material in an absurdly short amount of time. I was supposed to take the exam this morning, but it got snowed out. I literally hadn’t done a single MCQ in preparation because I didn’t have time, so I decided to take a practice final tonight to see if I needed to brush up on anything in particular.

I got 75% of the questions right on the Becker BEC practice final number 1. Does anyone know if that gives me a decent shot to pass BEC?

Wow! Good luck! I've heard that certain subject areas of Becker are “harder” than the actual exam. And other sections aren't covered in as much depth as they should be (IT). I've also heard that most people feel they do better than their final exam score when they get their real results. For instance, in my case when I studies Audit I was getting 80-83 on the final exams but when the scores came out I got an 89. Personally, I'd say you stand a pretty good shot at passing. And, what's the worst that can happen? You fail? At least you'll walk away from it with some experience. If i was you with your time crunch, I would hit up the IT part of the book and the update/addendum. That might give you the extra edge you need to slide by 🙂 Good luck!

Actually, I haven't even opened the IT section of the book yet. I have a degree in computer science, and I work in IT audit/ risk and controls, so that stuff comes pretty easily to me. Prometric is closed today AGAIN, so I can't even reschedule my test till tomorrow. Ive been going crazy studying for the last month, I just want to get this over with. I was expecting to be done by this weekend, but I guess I really should put in a little more time this weekend. I took FAR last week, so its been a rough one.

live42, I would also think you should be OK if you already scored a 75% with the Becker final exam. I didn't do that well with my final exam but passed BEC anyway. I too have a degree in computer science but there is still quite a bit or other stuff in BEC, which sounds like you have a good handle on. Good luck finding a spot at prometric.

live42 – I would agree with karojane and zena. I found the Becker Final Exams for BEC far more difficult than the real thing. I too have a computer science degree with software development experience and found the IT section the easiest of the 5. Good Luck!!

75% on the final exam is probably pretty good and worth a shot, i would just review the major topics of each chapter and redo some of the passmaster questions, a review of all 5 chapters and passmaster questions wont take that long, about 2-4 hours a chapter, then youd be ready.
