Taking AUD on 8/31 and I have consistently missed 10-12 MCQ on each testlet. Is this cause for concern? I have prepared more for this test than any other. For whatever reason the information is just not clicking for me.

    AUD - 76
    BEC - 84
    FAR - 84
    REG - 81

I took AUD yesterday and had the same exact situation happen to me. I also used Becker and was ranging in the 78-80% on mcqs during practice and would only get 60-68% during the mock exams. I don't know if I passed or failed yesterday, but I personally think that the mcqs on the actual exam were more like the normal ones during the homework and less like the ones on the mock exams, which I believe are harder on purpose. So, if you were trending higher on the normal mcq's rather than the mock exam mcq's you're probably going to be ok. I also studied more for AUD as it is the final test I need to pass and it just wasn't clicking for me either. All I can say is to make sure you take the time to read each question very carefully. I did notice that when I concentrated harder, went a little slower, and digested each word in the question and answers a little more that it helped. I was mentally exhausted more after AUD than any of the other tests besides FAR because I was concentrating so hard dissecting each and every mcq. I will have to wait and see until score release if that strategy worked, but that would be my advice.

@Zach Thank you for the advice. Do you have any tips for studying the SIMs? I'm getting burned out but always want to be prepared.

@Rusty, I agree with Zach on this, make sure you read each question very carefully on the exam. I flew through AUD (finished in just about 90 minutes), and did not do as well as I would have liked. I feel like I probably overlooked a few simple questions. As for studying sims- it is my opinion that knowing the material is the best way to prep for these. Ie if you know and understand the MCQ, you should be able to apply it to SIMs. I studied very few actual sims when I was studying for AUD, just looked at enough to know what types of format to expect. As with the other sections, I think you'll find the real exam a bit easier if you are studying with Becker.

I did all the Becker SIMs twice and did all the SIMs on the AICPA AUD sample test once. Both are a very fair representation on what to expect from the actual exam. I think the main issue with the AUD SIMs is just the amount of information and exhibits they can throw at you in some of them. I also personally had a harder time on the research question for AUD than the other exams, but I'm pretty confident I eventually got the correct answer. It just took me a lot longer on the actual test for whatever reason than on any of my previous exams or practice SIMs.
