Prometric says past cut off to re-schedule? Am I screwed?

I took Audit December 10th and failed with a 71.

Figured I’d book the first possible date, study, re-take while it was fresh.

Insert the Holidays, I mostly didn’t start studying until Friday (I know, my bad)

Last night I wrap up around 1am and figure I’ll see how I feel when I get up at 6 and bump it out a week if I need to.

Wake up at 6, decide to reschedule my exam (scheduled for 8am tomorrow- 26 hours away) and prometric says its past the cutoff and to call my board.

Well both the board and Prometric are closed today- since it’s a recognized holiday.

I feel like it’s kind of a trick, because I’m not within 24 hours.

Am I totally F’d at this point? If I need to re-take because I fail again because I’m not ready…..I have to wait until April now and take the crappy new exam.

I left a message for my local Prometric center since they’re open today for testing, I’ll try calling back once they open around 8 but I doubt I can do any thing.

Is my only option to cram my ass off today and pray?

After getting your failed score, did you submit a re-exam application form to your State Board so you can get a new NTS?

Okay, I got the actual scenario now. There should be a 24-hour window before we can push our schedule back.

You only have two options now. You will either show or no show tomorrow.

But I would not take a test when I am very much unprepared unless it's the end of the testing window. I'd rather forfeit the coupon notice and NTS fees than show up at the Prometric Center knowing I would only fail due to lack of preparation.

If you do not show up tomorrow, you can re-apply for a new NTS (no earlier than your scheduled test date) and that will give you enough time to prepare and sit anytime at the current testing window.

I'm not sure you can get a new NTS before score release if you don't take the exam. Keep calling your center today, they should be able to help you.

So you can re-schedule for the same testing window if you no-show for the exam?

No you can't. If you don't take it they basically categorize as a fail and make you wait until the next window.

    Are you sure on that?

I kind of remember reading that if the test is never launched at the facility you can re-take during the same testing window.

I did no-show in Q2 last year due to IBS. I had it for over 6 weeks after Easter. There was no way I could sit in May 9th due to no preparation during the time I was in pain. I forfeited my test and yet I was able to reapply for a NEW NTS and sit for the test in June 10th.

Well then it's state specific because there have been plenty of people here who have been unable to reschedule in the same window as a no show.

Lifted straight from my REG appointment reminder email from Prometric, received this morning:

“Any changes made 24 hours or less prior to your appointment will forfeit your fees and you will need to reapply to your board of accountancy or its designated agency. Please see your Candidate Bulletin for more information.”

Right….I saw the same cutoff of 24 hours on my appointment confirmation.

However 6am the day before your exam at 8 am….is 26 hours before. Not 24 hours or elss. Sooo Prometric is kinda screwing me.
And I can't call the board due to the holiday.

@Natalie, so are you planning to show or no show tomorrow?

I looked at the candidate bulletin and it says based on EST. What time zone are you in? Ou may be able to fight this once NASBA opens tomorrow. Its just risky waiting till the very last minute. I usually know within a week if I am going to be able to get my shit together and be ready for the exam.

Hopefully you get this resolved or are you planning on taking the exam tomorrow?

    BEC - 8/20/2016

I am so ready for this nightmare to be over. Been at this way too long.

I'm in Pacific time- but if the cutoff registers at EST so should my exam time in their records…if that makes sense. I would think it would be standardized.

Ya I figured with the 3 day weekend I'd know today if I felt ready because I just took it and was really close…I knew I had a few areas I needed to review. – I feel good but I'd feel SUPER GOOD with another week.

At this point I'm continuing to cram today and review as much as I can. I'll call NASBA in the am before the exam to see if I have the option to bump it out. Prometric and Nasba got emails today about this.
