Omg I was pretty confident I passed AUD. But nope…just checked and I got a 71! What was I thinking. So overconfident. Stupid me!!

    I also failed FAR with a 69.

    BEC expires 12/10. REG passed.

Now I have to pass both FAR and AUD in this next testing window. I have to. I have no choice. Oh and I have one toddler and an 8 month old at home. I really honestly only get 3 hours of study time each day maybe. This is after all day with kids running after them and running the house. So I’m a little exhausted. This is the hardest thing I’ve had to do honestly. I need guidance from you guys on how to tackle these remaining two sections by 12/10 so that I don’t lose BEC.

I’m not good with retaining information. I know I’m going to have to listen to all the lectures again. This is torture.

    A 71,66,70,72,83!

    B 75(E),82!

I agree with the posters above that said to use every “free” minute you have to study! I watch lectures while I make dinner, fold laundry, iron clothes, put makeup on, etc.

Also, I failed AUD in Q2 with a 73, studied for 3 weeks and just passed. I also felt like I needed to hear lectures again, so I spent those 3 weeks watching lectures for 1-2 hours per day and then doing Ninja MCQ's for 1 hour. I didn't end up getting through all the lectures again, but doing the overall review questions helped me enough to get a pass. Don't beat yourself up- I went 7 months without passing a section and I have no kids to distract me! I felt like AUD was the beast nobody talks about and was genuinely starting to wonder if I was capable of passing it. You can do this!

    AUD - 83
    BEC - 76
    FAR - 75
    REG - 80

I felt exactly the same way with my REG and got 71.
Don't lose confidence, worst scenario you lose BEC in December, but BEC is not that hard to pick up again. Take a breath and start over.

Just another thing to share, if you feel you need more sleep, go to sleep, this is your body telling you to be health-wise. This past Monday night I was too exhausted after a long day in office and decided who cares about CPA exam I'm going to bed early today, guess what – the other day I woke up like reborn and feeling more efficient. This is a long journey, occasionally you need to take a break in order to go further.

    AUD - 85
    BEC - 79
    FAR - 82
    REG - 91

I was in a similar situation. Had my first kid on 11/7/15 and sat for my first exam 11/12/15. Had my 2nd child on 11/15/16 and took my final exam 2/23/17. It was a struggle and I understand the grief you feel of missing time with your kids in order to study. It sucks.

My schedule was very structured, and for the most part didn't take away from too much time with the kids. I would study after the kids went down at 7-7:30…tried to study till 11. On the weekends I would wake up at 5-6am, studying till 11…so I would basically have the entire day to spend with the kids. If i felt i needed to play catch-up I studied a couple hours that night after the kids went down. That got me to my 20-25 hours/week all without sacrificing a lot of time. The biggest sacrifice was not taking the kids on trips. We had to stay around the house every weekend.

If you have a laid back work environment and can steal some study time during work hours do it! Also, don't take sleep for granted, its just as important. If you see my schedule I never stayed up super late, I went to bed at 11 and woke up around 7 so still maintained my 8 hours of sleep. When I felt sleep deprived, I was in a similar situation as you, I couldn't retain anything.

I hope this helps! Good luck!

    @hoosierCPA:
You're so right about no social life. We moved to CA and I haven't been able to do any sight seeing travel. Took off in July after taking AUD because I felt like I had passed. Was thinking of traveling in October and for thanksgiving but none of that is happening. The husband asked me last night if I really wanted the CPA, because poor guy has also lived live a hermit this year because of my studying. He wants to go to a game, can't. Go to Napa, can't. Hang with the extended family, can't.

The only thing positive is that hopefully having taken both parts before I'll remember some info and it won't be like starting from scratch. Ok now back to studying.. the baby just dozed off.

Thanks for the daily breakdown schedule. It's helpful. My kids don't go down until 8:30-9. I have to put the baby down. Husband does the older kid. So I'll do 9-11. Then wake up at 5. Do 5-7. And take one nap during the day with the baby. Will try this tonight.
