Can I take more than one exam in one day?

I know it’s not the best idea, so please refrain from posting replies that explain why that’s so 🙁 I don’t want to either, but there’s no way I can make it to the States otherwise.

Due to personal circumstances, it turns out it’s going to be extremely difficult for me to take my tests at any other time. I want to take AUD, BEC, and FAR either on April 22nd or 24th (the only days I can), so I’m trying to figure out a way I can achieve this goal. The only way is to take two in one day and the last one on the other.

First off, is that even possible? Will Prometric allow me to schedule my exams in this manner?

For instance, can I schedule BEC from 8:30 to noon and schedule AUD for 1pm?

Also, any tips if I do decide to go through with this idea? For example, should I take certain exams together and another one separately? If so, why?

Yes, I took two in one day! REG at 8am and FAR at 12:30. I had to drive to Houston to do it, because that was the closest testing center where I could schedule both. It was brutal! I'm not going to sugar coat it. Brutal is an understatement. I did great on REG, 84. There weren't many people there when I arrived so I asked for a computer at the back of the room and they put me on the back row. To say I left there for lunch on a high is an understatement. That was probably the only test I took that I walked out feeling like I actually passed. Everything just clicked. I could hear Jeff's voice in my head with his memory tricks and they saved my a$$. I sent him a text when I walked out to thank him even though I couldn't tell him why I was thanking him.

Then after a quick lunch, I went back for FAR. The testing center was packed so I had to take the only seat they could give me which happened to be next to someone taking what can only be described as a 4 1/2 hour timed typing test. Even with ear plugs in, I could hear every click and keystroke. Very distracting!!! By the time I hit the sims, I was exhausted. I made a stupid mistake on one sim that I'm sure cost me a pass. The sim was something that I do all the time at work. It wasn't hard, but I put the wrong number in the denominator on one calculation which threw the whole thing off. Afterwards, when I realized what I had done, I was sick to my stomach over it. By the time I walked out of FAR, I was just glad it was over. I got a 73 and my score report showed Stronger on each section of the MCQ's and Comparable on the sims. Devastated doesn't begin to describe how I felt. After that day, I never looked at another score report. To be stronger on MCQ's and Comparable on Sims and still get a 73 tells me that they mean NOTHING!

It's doable, no doubt. International candidates take all four in a few days all the time. I have nothing but respect for them! The only reason I even attempted it was because BEC was going to expire Tuesday, 4/3/12. I didn't know if I could take one test on 4/2 and the other on 4/3. I called the State Board and unfortunately, the lady I spoke to was new and it was lunchtime so there wasn't anyone there who could help. I found out much later on from the former Executive Director that he didn't know what would have happened, but that if I had taken one on the day a score was going to expire and NASBA took my BEC credit even if I had passed both exams, the board would have granted a one day extension and I would have been done a year earlier.

Since you don't seem to have a choice, here is what I would do, take it to heart or take it with a grain of salt. Schedule FAR for 8am on day one. Get there early and don't just sit in your car, but be the first person in the door. You will stand a better chance of getting a seat in the corner away from everyone where there are fewer distractions. That afternoon and night go over your AUD and BEC notes. Drill MCQ's on your weak areas. I know some people don't study the day before an exam, but that never worked for me. I had to study right up to the minute I walked in to test. On day two, take AUD first. It's the trickiest of the two, not necessarily the hardest, but the questions are tricky as hell. Early in the morning you are going to be more alert and will RTFQ better. I never used all of my time taking AUD. Every time I took it I had at least an hour left on the clock. Spend that extra time, if you have any, and your lunch break to go over the formula's. Everyone knows that BEC is formula heavy. After you finish BEC, get some supper, go back to your hotel and pass out!!! Believe me, you won't want to fly home that night. I knew there was no way I could drive almost 4 hours home after that day, so I stayed in the hotel an extra night.

You asked if this was possible. So to answer your question, I'll tell you what my grandmother always told me. “You can do anything you put your mind to.” Good Luck and keep me posted! I want to hear how you do.
