Testing center issues

    Hi everyone,
I just took FAR on Friday and had a few issues at the testing center.

First of all when I got to the simulations portion the view of the computer was zoomed very far in. It was as if I had the zoom on a word document of internet browser set to 200%. I wasn’t able to view all of the information on one page of the simulation let alone go to split screen and view multiple documents simultaneously. This cause the simulation portions to take about 4 times longer than they should have. I alerted the test moderator and the didn’t do anything about it.

Then secondly towards the end of the exam my number pad stopped working forcing me to use the numbers at the top of the keyboard and manually click on the calculator with my mouse. These two problems cause the simulations to take much longer than they should have and I wasn’t able to complete two of them.

Prometrics told me to contact there office which told me to contact NASBA. I contacted both. NASBA doesn’t seem to be any help, but I eventually talked to enough people at prometrics that they said their NASBA representative would be in the office on Monday and figure it out.

Has anybody had issues with the testing center causing problems and how did they resolve it?

I have another exam scheduled two weeks from now, but if they will let me retake FAR within a week or two I will cancel my next exam in order to take FAR again.

Has anyone had experience with a malfunction out of their control and being granted a retest in a short period of time? Not sure if this is even possibility, but hoping someone has experience.

    Thanks,
    Craig

My friend took AUD in Q1. Her computer froze and they had to call IT to move her exam to another terminal. When she got the exam back up, 45 minutes had passed on the clock.

She wound up failing with a 73. She complained to the AICPA and they waived her testing fee to retest in Q2.

Yes, I've complained and they found it to be a real issue – They've told me to reach out if I fail for a free retake. No consolation prize, but at least you don't have to pay again

Good luck with the score release. I hope that you don't need to take them up on the offer.
