Hello all, I’ve been doing some research on this through some of the older threads such as this one

    Accounting Ethics Class Online

Have there been any updates for accelerated courses in which you can take an accounting ethics class in a week or are CC’s/Extensions still the only way to get credit for 4 accounting ethics unit requirements for Cali? I’m prepared to pull the trigger on the UCSD extension course but just wanted to get others thoughts on cheaper/quicker alternatives.

    Thank you all.

I looked for a while and could not find one. It really seemed like the UC Extension was the fastest route. Didnt check prices much because I just wanted to be done with this journey. took mine at UCSD. Not sure who your instructor is but within the first week, the instructor uploaded all of the material/exams for the class. She allowed us to work at our own pace and did let us know that if we wanted to finish early, wr could do so by completing all the work and then letting her know so she would be able to grade our work and post our grade early.

Personally, I chose to take it slow mostly because it was during tax season and didnt have the time. The class is easy but can be a bit time consuming.

There are no alternatives I'm aware of. I registered at Foothill college to take the class, but was sidelined for three sessions (Spring/Late Spring/Summer) due to their crappy registration process (it wouldn't give me a reasonable registration date and by the time I could register, the class was always full). I ended up taking the class at UCLA Extension. Was 7x more expensive and very tedious. Required to do multiple discussion posting on different days. Exams every week. But… I finished. Worth it to get it out of the way.

Thanks guys I feel a little bit better now about swallowing the $700 fee.

@Finally_a_CPA The professor is Suzanne Dennis, i'm guessing it's the same Professor she's teaching all the courses. That early grade seems very interesting; without having yet seen the work do you think two full weekends is enough to finish the entire course? Thanks,

I took it over the Summer 6 week session at Santa Monica College online. Paid about $100 and rented the textbook from amazon for about $30. May want to look into their Fall session as it may be broken in two 9 week sessions. Good luck.

Mission College for me, as another option. The instructor read every word (lots of essays; two term papers) and was quite insightful in grading but overall was a great experience.

    Yes, same professor.
I definitely think it is doable. You would have to spend all day doing the work but you've passed the CPA exams so I'm sure it wouldn't be anything new for you.

There are 10 chapters and you have a hw assignment, 5-10 question quiz, lecture video, and two discussion postings per week. Oh, and a final exam. I think you cam honestly do without the lecture videos. You can have the power point slides open while taking the quiz.

I took mine at mission college online. There was a prerequisite I had to override (its basically accounting 101 and you have to email the department head that you already took it when you complete a degree). However, it was so easy to override it as they were very efficient. The mission college course did not fill up unlike the one at santa monica college. I think they had to open a whole other class because the demand was insane. I would recommend the mission college course as it was very reasonable.
